I liked Idira's arc. She learns that there are fates worse than her whispers, and learns to make peace with the hardships she faces. She desired identity-death because it would absolve her of the devil she knew, but she matured and realized that would be worse. This has parallels to real life with people who turn to drugs or alcohol to mute their perceptions regarding whatever devils in their life, but that literally just makes everything worse. Some people learn that and move past it like Idira did, while others don't and they make their life worse through their efforts to numb the pain.I liked Argenta's arc. She learns that there are actually outright bad people like the deldar and the dawn cultists, so she teaches that kinda-heretical-but-not-really-intentionally-evil people like Idira should be helped.I liked Jimmy's arc. He learns that you can't always trust your mentor or authority figures, and that you have to use your own prudence to hold on to the ideals they taught you. Your loyalty should be to ideals, not individuals.Ulfar didn't particularly have an arc. He went into the game hating Calcazar and he was simply vindicated by the story. He just punched a hellbrute and all the other wolves woofed and yiffed and howled and accepted him. He didn't change.I'm actually conflicted on Abelard's arc. I don't think people have examined this one enough. Theodora was a heretic who's actions harmed the Expanse, but Abelard seems to still wistfully reminisce about her. He seems to just say "it was her right to do that" instead of realizing that a heretic is a heretic. But I do like his arc insofar as he realizes he's been doing this long enough and should settle down and lead his family.Jae's arc is that she starts off a golddigger, but in her romance she legitimately starts to like you and you have a more legitimate relationship later on.
