If evo forest was good at multiple things they wouldn't have had a 0-10 matchup against sword when evo forest was supposed to be undisupted top 1. Evo forest is good at making 3/3s which lets them play Sandalphon. If you can clear the 3/3s passively you win. If you can outheal Sandalphon you win. Because once forest loses their thing they are good at they have no pivot towards something else. Forest has super lopsided matchups because they are really really good at doing one thing.Remember during set 2 when tournaments had a bunch of people bringing ward haven for the sole purpose of protecting their rune deck from roach? Since forest will always have the flaw of never being a well rounded class. Dragon had the flaw of being shit early game and instead of making dragons strengths even better to compensate for that weakness they decided to just get rid of the weakness with sloth and whale slut.
Over 1 hour of this Maharu stream and he still hasn't played against anything other than Abyss. I think they were all Milteo too.

Milteo is literally roach if it was allowed to be good at everything. Play aggro and tempo because combo pieces naturally go into your hand when the followers die. Gets an extra 12+ health while clearing board with bats. Gets a hard board clear if you go super defensive with Milteo. Then gets to kill you from 20.
Turn 3 roach got to play a godwood staff. Milteo only gets to play a 3/2 with rush. It loses 1 entire health in exchange for only getting a ghost that is a massive cost. Meanwhile roach just generates infinite value for the rest of the game with that staff.

If milteo was a combo deck, it would cost 8pp. They made it a 6pp precisely for it to act as a finisher for a degenerate high tempo, low curve aggro/burn strategy. The fact that it can also OTK, on top of being able to steal games by low curve early tempo is an absolute joke.

The 7pp legendary in particular just shits on the rune 9pp drop, undoes 6 of their burn, and forces them to sevo to clear, because neither Lila nor the spell can clear her.

Milteo would have made way more sense if they had made some kind of unchained deck. Like they get a bunch of big followers that cant attack but if you play Milteo the crest removes everything except strike and clash effects. Here's my big 5pp 8/8 with ward and he gains barrier and heals me for 4 when he strikes. But he cant attack.Now he's a 10/10 without ward but he can attack and still gets barrier and heals me.Spamming storm damage is broken and boring as fuck
