I think the main reason all the adventure sequel are bad is because they age up the characters but don't tell us anything new about them after 02. Taichi and Yamato just revert back into bickering children in tri and kizuna doesn't do anything whatsoever with the character dynamics. Why would I want to watch Digimon: All Grown Up if you don't play with the fact that they're grown up. Being an adult doesn't mean becoming a more boring version of your childhood self.
