Last year had some of the worst expansions we've ever seen full of trash, parasitic mechanics. It just all came to a head with Cata because suddenly the decent expansions were removed and they rotated in a Core set which has in total about 6 playable cards in total. This is also the reason why the game just kept feeling worse and worse to play as 2025 dragged on.Blaming Cata for the current state of the game is just recency bias.
