Invisible enemy sounds daunting but by the time you've got every other run complete and know all the enemy placements, it's piss easy. The only pain in the ass trophy is "every nook and cranny", the description of which is misleading, it says you have to visit every room on all the maps but actually you have to gray out every room on every map, so basically it's a pick up every item in the game challenge, which is a slog.

Finally played RE1 OG. I used to be a Jill scenario truther but now I realise that was just my Vothfaggery clouding my vision. Having played it with PS1 models, I now prefer Chris's scenario. It's lonelier (far less cutscenes, no babysitter character, Becky only helps you play the piano and makes V-JOLT), has more enemies, less inventory, key collecting, worse firepower.... but he has a lot of health. For me, tanking your way through corridors with little-to-no ammo and an inventory maxed out with junk, with only a teenage cheerleader to keep your morale up, this is trve survival horror. And I get to laugh at that cuck Wesker's science project.

However, I did not enjoy the fox guy dungeon crawling sections, though I am happy it wasn't industrial rustslop like Silent Hill 2 remake was and I hope future instalments keep inventing their own new otherworlds. Going from RE6 to this game was a huge step down it's so simplified and boring and the combat is extremely basic. It somehow looks a lot better though, the textures aren't nearly as muddy and the shadows aren't fucked like in RE6.

Days after finishing RE6 I keep going back to play more No Mercy because the combat is so satisfying and addicting. It's a shame that the actual campaigns are so badly designed because this combat system has so much potential that seems to have just been wasted. You can see a lot of RE6 influence in the RE9 combat actually but at a much slower pace and with much worse weapon variety.

This is the first and last time I'm ever playing RE2 on hard. All it does is turn zombies into insane bullet sponges and makes them shuffle around a little faster and enemies overall can kill you from yellow health status but a single zombie can take an entire magazine's worth of bullets and then some unless you get lucky and the RNG gods blesses you with a critical headshot and you can still pop their heads with a well aimed shotgun blast too. Resources and ink ribbons are the same as on normal so you can tell the game wasn't originally designed with hard mode in mind unlike RE1 and RE3 and I still had a lot of resources leftover by the end anyway despite saving more often than I normally would. It wasn't even that much more difficult than on normal honestly just super tedious but I still took out almost the same amount of enemies as normal and only really had issues with G4 because the camera works against you half the time and he can easily maul you to death from yellow health and tanks a ton of magnum rounds.
