The EX characters were a mistake. I'm really not sure what they were thinking with that, but the fact that they haven't released any other EX characters beyond the first batch pretty much means they acknowledged they fucked up with that decision. The Smart/Super Smart or whatever controls were another mistake. Other than a few people who fooled around with it on the day it was added, I have not seen another player using anything other than manual. And it certainly didn't attract any new players to the game. I can't believe they wasted resources making something like that. Removing promos and making ranked easier was another mistake. It funnels everyone into Master and now bad players have to constantly fight people so insurmountably stronger than them that it just makes the bad players give up. Maybe they thought it would be more motivational for new players to see rank go up but they really fucked up with that. 66L and BC ruin the game for everyone, new players and veteran FG players alike. Everyone hating it at the top level is a given, but it's a misconception to say that it makes the game more accessible to new players. It really only makes the gap between a newfag and a mildly competent player bigger because those mechanics can be made extremely oppressive and easily abusable if you have a little game awareness. Nothing needs to be said about the shitty character balance, lack of patches, lack of new characters, lack of future plans, lack of stuff to do inside the game, etc. The game is a disappointment and the devs are okay with it staying that way.

It's ok to admit this game isn't good. You can still like it and play it of course, as long as you don't pretend it's good. Being honest about things is liberating. This game is not good at all but it's still entertaining to boot up at least twice a week, maybe once. I'm just not a fan of people dancing around issues and making these long arguments constantly defending horrible game mechanics when you can just admit they're bad and just keep playing. Lots of people wanna psyop themselves into believing something is good just because they spent a large chunk of time on it or because they feel the need to belong to a community thus they "need" to like something fully when it just isn't the case.
