What's a good % for increased damage? I've been crunching the numbers manually on reverie and the build just wastes too much space pathing to to flask nodes to be very useful. There's a couple of absolutely incredible flask nodes available but for a build that gives up just about every defense that isn't raw DR or guard, having about 15-20 passives dedicated to damage seems very low for your average build. There's some way to make it work by scaling with mana but it's too demanding scaling up mana and the stats needed to keep up constant regen and good enough stats to run either a 2H mace and a shield for maximum mana and life or give up a lot of damage scaling just running any other weapon archetype. Archmage isn't really a good solution here for damage since it's kind of dead. Maybe on a skill that hits infinity time like plants it can be made to work but that's even more demanding on the skill tree to scale. I'm afraid to say bros, short of having a billion divs Reverie Amazon is kind of bait

The main conundrum is that the damage is honestly passable with both the mana to damage helmet and the new hammer, but to truly get mana numbers you need retarded strength for the mace and Mahuxotl's. Then the problem is that playing Mace isn't very fun and the build, while likely retard-proof levels of safe, isn't putting out much damage. A corrupted Mind of the Council and Twisted Empyrean can have around 24% of your mana as added attack damage, which at a somewhat reasonable 2500 is about 600 added damage, turning Empyrean into a 1230 damage Mace. Scaling it up is a bit of an issue though, while both herald of ice and thunder can be ran you can't invest in anything reasonable enough to make it feel good to play and put out good numbers without a lot of convolution or some insane investment. Maybe a Reverie rune can salvage this but otherwise it's looking like bending over just so you can get a cold damage mace with no levels on it.

One of the things that I have felt has been missing from Path of Exile 2 since the start of early access was a lack of emergent complexity. To me, that is the secret sauce of Path of Exile 1 which makes it stand above the other ARPGs. It's a lot of fun to see how new league mechanics interact with old items, skills, and crafting methods to enable something that was never possible before in unforeseen ways.I've had hopes since 0.1 that over time emergent complexity would be added as more content came out, but GGG's changes each patch seem to indicate that is not the direction they want to go. Every time a clever interaction of items, skills, or crafting methods have been found, creating emergent complexity, GGG have completely removed them from the game rather than tune them if they are a too strong. A perfect example of this was Sowza's Last Lament Lich. This was a really clever use of different mechanics to circumvent a normally unusable item's downside to enable a cool new build. GGG even showcased this build in one of their builds of the weeks. Then, sadly, the next patch the enabling interaction was completely removed from the game.The same thing is now happening with the recent nerfs to mid-tier crafting where the recombinator is being removed and the change where all deterministic modifiers are considered crafted and you can only have one crafted mod per item. Instead of being able to combine mechanics from each league's crafting methods to make new and unique items, we will instead just have to pick one league mechanic's crafting item to interact with and exalt slam from there.Whether GGG's actions of minimizing the amount of emergent complexity is intentional or incidental, I really hope they reconsider their approach to constraining mechanics in the future. At least for me, constrained agency where we can only play exactly how the designers per-determined we should play is not fun long term.
