I mostly hang out in /sfg/ but I wanted to ask the people here. Why do tekkens combos feel the way they do? You know what I mean right? When im playing any other fighting game I do the input for the move at the exact time the move comes out, it feels crisp and responsive. But in tekken you need to press the entire combo super fast, like literally all the buttons for the whole combo during the first 2 moves, then the combo just happens and I spend like 5 or 6 seconds just watching it while it while pressing nothing. Is there a reason why the game feels like this? Are there any characters that have combos that feel more normal for lack of a better term?

>>568465707Tekken combos are very buffer dependent, and while SF combos are all about canceling, in Tekken it's much more common that you're doing standalone moves that just happen to juggle together. So you will do a button, press the next button and wait out the 17 frames of recovery so the next button which is maybe 15f startup comes out. That's 32f just looking at the screen, meanwhile SF combos usually require tighter timing since the cancel window is small(ish).
