I frequently find that even when I am efficiently farming waves, boxing between waves, taking sinners, etc, I am usually "just staying afloat" in farm. I never feel like I am "that guy" who is 10k ahead of the lobby. I feel like I have pretty good macro, but this is one short falling. I feel like if I could push past this gap I could possibly push for eternus. Does getting a huge snowball lead really just also require taking good fights at the right time, or am I missing some kind of secret sauce that players often mistake?

See, instead of an urn, it should be a briefcase. Both teams get a briefcase, and you need to steal the other team's briefcase, and bring it to your base. Once you bring it to your base, you get a point, and the briefcase goes back to the enemy team's base. After you bring it back an X number of times (determined by server settings) you win.Also change the map to pic related.

Also usually lifestrike is not worth it as an item to upgrade into - your main survivability as Billy is landing melee and not getting parried while blasted to stack temp hp. As Billy you are really good at fucking up one person or a group if you are lucky. Bash and ram both force movement upon people so if you time them well you can effectively lock someone's movement for 2-4 seconds while you slap them around.

So from what I gathered what makes this strategy work is the fact that the urn only really checks if it's supposed to be favored every 5 minutes and if you're holding the urn when that happens it doesn't update until the next window, where you can do the same thing again. So the band-aid fix would be checking as soon as it resets.And to be fair, Floorman didn't even try anymore once they saw what they were doing, they couldn't contest mid boss sure but after that they didn't even try to pick someone or mcginnis ult their wave, nothing at all, so the effectiveness is probably exaggerated.
