Won a key for Beta on Owlcat twitch stream giweaway and played it to completion. It says 44 hours, but you could shave off 3-4 - since my PC is a potato loading screens were long and some shit was slow + AFK time. Desppte being below requirements I could run it, it's very well optimized. This was how much it took going in mostly blind reading everything and listening to all VA.Gotta say the game is an improvement compared to RT on pretty much all levels. Love the encounter design, everything feels unique and handcrafted with (often optional) narrative objectives. Game is actually challenging no more alpha strike faceroll, you need to play tactically. Archetype balance is spotty since some are clearly stronger (psyker officer) than others (soldier, tank warrior - armor gets shreded by lasguns too fast). Investigations are 10/10 this is better than a lot of dedicated detective adventure games, love you can choose to blame people despite the evidence for your or the inqusition's goals there were consequences in "ending slides" for cases at the end of Beta and Zerbe + other inqusitor comments/rewards, but we'll see if it's big in full game. Convictions are bad since paired convictions lock each other out at rank 2 (you get Monodominant/Amalathian and Xeno/Xanthite simultaniously on same dialogue choices a fair amount of times), plus makes more sense for something like Monodominant to oppose other 2 early rather than Amalathian, another puritan ideology, lock should come a rank later at least since you can get a lot of points in Act 1. Companions were prettty good, some had less to say and were clearly unfinished, my favorites were Laarthyr, Saro, and Chorda in terms of personality. Cogg is a lovable oaf. Hypathia was unfinished, Epi is chatty, but mostly just professional talk, Haymar, Discordance and Touma didn't have many interjections but I did Marisportum first so idk would they have more shit there.Also few bugs.Overall loved it and hyped for full release.
