Characters with vertical mobility have to take advantage of it as much as possible. I think characters who lack something vertical like wallclimb + aren't Tracer to blink through deathzones suck at diving on those maps (thinking of Anran). There are also characters who can help the team a lot in non-divey shit until diving becomes more opportune, like Lucio and Winston.
