For me personally I would fucking love something that used the dungeon more rather than it being just a set piece. For example having to interact with the arena or certain things along the path to open different paths that alter the dungeon and its mechanics much like Variant.However, as much as I would enjoy that I know it wouldn't work, there are 2 very clear reasons for why.1. Your average FFXIV player has difficulty doing even the most basic of mechanics as well as pushing their buttons. Expert is a way to interact with the gear treadmill with minimal effort and to introduce failure points in that content would be met with a lot of backlash from the more casual crowd. Not to mention for players who DO have pattern recognition it would be extremely frustrating to have what should be a 15 minute dungeon at most turn into something like 30 minutes because their random DF party can barely play the game.2. Unfortunately as much as this game is a MMO SE has this strange obsession to cater to players who enjoy playing this multiplayer game solo. Which means that most dungeons that are released now must be able to be clearable by Trusts. This is why you see the over simplification of dungeons like Totorak etc. not saying Totorak is a masterpiece of a dungeon but it had branching paths and was at least funny for that.Introducing platforming for example which I'm sure the trusts could be coded to do means that the Trusts need to be able to do more complicated movements other than "run straight forward into the next pack"Essentially you will never get any funny dungeons again in Expert because of these reasons and you have to look to Extreme/Savage/Ultimates/Variant/Deep Dungeon for something that mildly activates the neurons.
