As for some beginner tips:
Try to get a matching reactor for your descendant. Chill/fusion for viessa for example.
Be sure to use mods in your descendant and guns. Upgrade them if you can. Def is mostly useless, so is shield. Resistances might be useful for some colossi battles early on, but can be taken off afterwards. Get some power ratio for your element, cooldown and stuff.
Go for max HP as mainstat on your components early on. Later on you want sets though.
Try to get max HP as a substat on your auxiliary. Put on an HP mod. And you should be able to cruise through the game.

They want you in hard mode asap. Once you got some archive shards, check out Anais, the research lady. You can unlock your first ultimate descendant and weapons there.
Thunder Cage is a great starter weapon to put some catalysts in.
Ultimate Viessa is probably the strongest of the descendants you can craft with archive shards. (Bunny will get buffs next patch, so will probably be stronger then her)

You can check the library where anything in the game drops. It even has a search bar.
You can target reward some of the grindy stuff (amorphous materials for example) in this game. Means you will get guaranteed progress to a drop. Hotkey is G, hovering over a reward for a mission. Doesn't work for everything. You unlock up to 4 slots to target stuff with MR.

Check out Eckert at some point. He has some very easy missions to get some of the early stuff. Especially the dog. Huge QoL. Also easy materials to build catalyst every couple days (Catalysts are there to increase your descendant/weapon power, as they allow you to slot in more mods.)

You guys are quibbling over the amount or degree of gooner, when the answer is simply that there are levels of gooner.

Neir is a good game with good gameplay and has a story to tell, while also having a conventionally attractive protagonist in a skirt. It is a legitimate game first, and then also has a sprinkling of gooner on top because Tarro even said he just likes looking at attractive women. In other words, if you were to completely remove the flattering outfits and 2B was wearing a trash bag, the game would still stand on its own.

This isn't true for something like the average gacha game, where the gameplay is generally pretty shallow and you really are just buying the pixels of the women in most cases. Sure, a few gacha games have invested in having ok gameplay, but generally speaking, if you were to do the same thing with 2B by replacing their outfits with a trash bag, most gacha games would NOT stand on their own.

TFD is right in the middle. I actually do enjoy setting up module pages, reading the unique abilities of guns, thinking of how to maximize my damage, testing slightly different setups to see which is better, etc. TFD actually does have some amount of good gameplay. But on the other hand, I don't think I would have spent 500usd on this game if I didn't have a crush on Viessa and bought all her outfits for her. So TFD is an example of a game that is sort of a legit game, but does lean on the gooner elements as well.

Having some gooner elements does not make a game "a gooner game". There is a scale, and degrees. You have to use your judgement, and the answer is generally how much of the game stands on its own without the goner elements if you were to remove them.

If I'm leveling a fresh character, I do Sigma Sectors to level both character and arche. They're fast and other people are usually doing them for dailies/farming drops.
If I only want character xp, I do 400s for the speed, mats, and amorphs.

I don't know what the optimal math is for rerolling ancestors but once I'm capped I just go look at my stash for whatever I actually want to use roll it until it costs 170 blue bullshit then trash it if it doesn't have something good. Like every live service game. The beginning is easy the end is bullet sponge. I bounced off hard when the game first came out pre season didnt start playing again until the beginning of season 3. Bounced off again came back mid season 3 and have been playing it every day since then. Currently I'm mastery rank 31 with all weapons built most maxed and all female characters maxed and fully built.

My Valby is the victim of a vicious rumor! This picture is NOT what it looks like; it's all a big misunderstanding. She was asked to be backup for Viessa and Hailey and she made contact with them and then went to call HQ, but she lost her footing on some ice Viessa had made and slipped and fell. My Valby tried to catch herself but one foot got stuck in a snowbank and her other foot got stuck under Viessa's sniper rifle and she fell down, coincidentally, right behind Hailey's backside. And it hurt really badly so that's why her head is tilted back. There is nothing suspicious about this picture and my Valby is glad any misunderstandings have been cleared up.

Triple Shader Cache Clear

1. NVIDIA GPU (Driver-level cache):
Open NVIDIA Control Panel Manage 3D Settings
Find “Shader Cache Size”, set it to Disabled, click Apply
Then set it back to “Driver Default” or 10GB, and apply again
This refreshes the shader cache at the driver level.

- Open the NVIDIA control panel
- Go to Manage 3D Settings
- Turn OFF Shader Cache
- Save and apply changes
- Reboot your PC
- After the PC boots, open the Run dialog box or File Explorer
- Type the following environment variable into the Run dialog box or the File Explorer address bar and hit Enter: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local
- At the location, find and open the "NVIDIA" folder
- In the folder, find and open both the "DXCache" and the "GLCache" folder and delete all the items in the folders
- Next, go back to the "Local" folder
- Now, at that location, find and open the "NVIDIA Corporation" folder
- In the folder, find and open the "NV_Cache" folder and delete the contents of the folder
- Exit File Explorer
- Now, go back to the NVIDIA control panel and turn on Shader Cache (set to driver standard)
- Restart your PC

2. Windows OS (DirectX cache):
Go to Settings System Storage Temporary files
Check “DirectX Shader Cache”, then click Remove files

3. Game (Unreal Engine 5 pipeline cache):
Delete the following file:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\M1\Saved\M1_PCD3D_SM6.upipelinecache

After completing all three steps, restart the game.

Best thing to come out of onslaught is the opening cutscene to show off customizations. They need to do more closeup glamour shots in repeatable content including bikes and weapons to encourage people to get creative or just buy skins, whatever works.
