I know it's unfair to compare the mental struggles people have to persevere through, but there are characters who are fighting tooth and nail through hell everyday to barely survive and there are those who get depressed, go through existential crisis' and attempt suicide or give up like Anis. It's just so easy to view characters like Anis or Riss as exceptionally weak minded especially when it feels like being a hardened warrior in constant life or death situations is the baseline backstory for most characters in nikke.
