Not just performance and tech (which I sincerely doubt they'll completely fix) but systemically. They put in a number of mitigations and more interesting fights. The thing is they CANNOT fix the core problems without removing mechanics now, which they simply will not do (big exception here for the wound mechanic, they toned that back so much for later monsters it almost doesn't exist which is probably for the best). Focus mode is completely busted. All the parries and shit weapons have are completely busted. Post release monsters were made much more enjoyable to fight and more difficult but they fundamentally cannot be interacted with in the same way as previous MHs because the hunter sets the pace of the fight and your positioning barely matters, both of which (monster setting the pace, positioning being king) were core elements of the series originally.They're going to have to add some new gimmicks for the expansion too and they're probably just going to start the problem cycle all over again.It's a real shame the bad things are so fundamental to Wilds because there are good things about it too, but they're almost worthless next to the bad.

They've said that a single monster in Wilds takes them about six months to make. data for every single AT monster has been in the game since the open beta but they dummied out their unique attacks so the game would crash if you tried to fight them on an earlier version of the game than whatever update added them. I think they've been tweaking stat numbers and parameters since launch but nothing else. Lagiacrus and Seregios have noticeably stricter drop rates than anything in the release game which I assume was in response to complaints about how easy it is to make gear. All the 9* shit was scraped together post-launch and that's minimum effort HP/Damage/Status resistance scaling. They even said that they planned to release the 9* event versions of Yian Kut Ku/Blangonga/etc with the other 9* stuff in August but couldn't get them ready in time so their pipeline is 100% fucked beyond belief

Am I the only one who has continuously RPed as my first created character on my first monhun game (MHFU back in 2010 in this case) throughout the releases, treating him as a legendary travelling hunter-vagabond who goes around making the monhun world a better place in all the different regions, all while appropriately aging him up in the character creator in every sequel?Like, my original FU character was a teenager with anime hair and a faggy anime voice (I was 12 back in the day so whatever). Offsets are so fucking retarded man, I only played hammer in milds so I'm not sure about other weapons, but being safe on level 2 charge is genuinely retarded, and following up with even more offset moves provides a level of safety that just shits all over the game. Offsets are so fucking broken man, worse than any fucking counter in the series. Giant fucking window, covers multi hits and provides a knockdown if the game gives it too you. I saw an ajarkan or whaterever the fuck doing his big ball move where he rolls on the ground, and guess what? I did a level 2 charge into it, the offset effect went off like 4 times and then got my knockdown. Like what the fuck is that?
