It's perfectly valid and even done by the devs to leave a weapon skill at 5 insetad of spending 21 extra karma to get to 8.Cybe/Biojobs have even more absurd stat gains and karma savings thanks to the ability to treat augmented bonuses as actual ones. Except no matter how high, they won't exceed the damage I did with that chained Flamethrower. Plus, all of that ware is fucking expensive in what is the least rewarding game of the trilogy.

The pistol triple shot lets you deal a fuck ton of damage as well as the pistol model burst modes and even a fucking shotgun one, so it's just an outright superior weapon. Not to mention the sheer crit chance. AR wishes they were as good at dealing damage. Sword adept is so high because of that one broken sword that gives you an AP for your next turn after you kill somebody. No other reason. Would be lower than unarmed otherwise. That's how good that sword is. Cyberweapons are great and heavily reliant on stats, of which the bio/cyber monster has in abundance thanks to all the augs. It's better than gunslinger by a thin margin.Why is rigger so high up? Two drones with nearly infinite ammo fulfilling different roles, from healing to grenading, that can get up to 4 AP each with full investment. You can bother investing in actual combat skills if you really want to contribute what little you'll do outside of two fully capable sub-characters you completely control. Leyline/Dragonline bonuses outdo all of that though.
