That lets you scale from scimitars to longswords to bastard swords as you accumulate the feats to handle it without having to abandon all your class features(titan fighter wielding scimitars is kinda sad). Instead you get nice stat bonuses that help smooth your progress into dual bastard swords. For me Titan Fighter feels like an aesthetics over effectiveness choice or something for Legend to pick 2nd to boost damage.

There is a hostage rescue fight that has a mechanic where the enemies will try to kill the hostages if you just rush, so you have to lockpick a door and interrupt the execution, and it has alternate routes to set up the fight where you can send in a "negotiator" to already be in that room, or spike their beer so they have debuffs, stuff like that. This one fight already has more setup options and diversity than anything in rt. Then you have the mechanicus tree fight where you have to turn the tree back on to end the fight and the generators are on complete opposite sides of the area and you get additional rewards if you don't destroy the guards. and the bloodletter that has ritual altars that are not just "interrupt this to stop the ability", the abilities swap altars and are transferred to the minor bloodletters and stuff so there's planning and strategy. It's all so much better.I will say that the only flop for me was the valkyrie fight, but even that was just because it seemed like an actual bug that the valkyrie itself as well as the anti-aircraft gun randomly changed positions every round. I think the AA gun zone was not supposed to change positions every round, and you were supposed to lure the valkyrie into it. But for me both changed every round, so it felt random and there was no luring the valkyrie since the zone to lure it to changed every single round.But yes, it's much better now. owlcat gets better with every single game.

I finished Esoteric Ebb. The setting a bit too nice for my taste, the people are surprisingly good for a setting where you had genocides and the equivalent of a nuclear war in less than 200 years. Some real PG13 stuff, with some concentrated Reddit at parts.I played as a DEX/CHA rogue that solved the mystery and was overall nice to people (to get paid more). Will things change if I play an INT wizard supremacist and try to Charm everyone? Are there even different routes?

The setting and MC's backstory reveals itself at a decent pace, and the high points of the story are good, and some characters are well written (the INT stat is fun, for example). The optional sidekicks are OK.But sometimes I wished I could be more nasty (nothing close to that part in DE where you can make the girl selling books cry with an explosion of rage and despair at your failed marriage, for example) or violent and go full Pathfinder, smiting evil, and the mocking of fascism, communism and enlightened apolitical beings feel too much like "we do this because DE did it".Then again I might just be bitching pointlessly, as I finished the game. It was not bad or soulless by any means.
