Enemies had different attenuation formulas, some of the formulas had specific exceptions for crit, the anti-crit perks on Zariman incarnons used to ignore the attenuation on certain enemies, etc. Separately from that, it was originally possible to one shot each phase of an archon with a good shotgun, before their weird and fucked up attenuation started ramping up. They didn't like that, so they cranked up the attenuation on archons and for a few months it wasn't possible to one shot them anymore. With the attenuation nerfs a few months ago, it's now possible to one shot archon phases again although I don't personally know if Felarx can do it now.

I subsoom off his three because I do not like random cooldowns added to abilities for no reason.
I have no idea how much plat even costs and this seems like a terrible deal.
