Midnight Suns is legitimately a really good CRPG and should have been more popular than it was. I think the card thing was just unmarketable, but all it really works out to be mechanically is that instead of rolling dice to determine whether you hit and for how much damage, you roll dice to determine which abilities are available to you this turn. I'm currently playing a Huntress and plan to eat either Magik pussy or Wanda pussy. Maybe even both.

It also has xp, leveling, perk/feat choices, and itemisation like a crpg.So yes, this checks enough of the boxes of what a crpg is. It's a "turn based tactics game with character progression, roleplaying, customization, and story elements with consequences", which at this point what is the point of quibbling over genre?I'm just glad there's an actual good looking star wars game.
