Just beat BBS. What's the consensus on it here? Overall I loved it, though it felt too short and basically forced you to play through it 3 times. I wonder if it's me, but I was kind of upset about 2 things which I wanted to get some of your perspective on:1) The story didn't feel like it stood up on its own, it's like it all exists in relation to KH1/2. The story felt hasty, the characters felt a bit generic, while their past was barely touched on. World building was almost nonexistent, the Unversed were barely interesting. Terra, Ven and Aqua just happen to meet every single KH character in the past, and everything just happens to tie in to Radiant Garden, Destiny Islands and Castle Oblivion. In the end what new you learn, beside the X-blade, left more questions than answers, like the absolute clusterfuck that is Ansem-Xemnas-Terra with Eraqus inside, why Ventas didn't wake up when Roxas was alive, why Terra's armor is sentient but others are not, how did they protect Aqua in realm of darkness where she apparently spent 11+ years and hasn't aged a day, etc..2) Gameplay was good but something felt missing. I played on Critical, I decided to just max out Thundaga/ Thunder Boost with Aqua early on. I basically demolished everything in my path, brute forced every boss with no grinding. No point in D links, shotlock or anything (I played the OG PSP ver).

Reminder that Nomura joked about wondering whichever would come first, the end of KH or his retirement. KH4 is either the last game or Nomura is gonna retire and the series is gonna go to shit probably. Either way don't expect to get another game soon after IF KH4 ever releases, nothing like FF7R, and they don't seem to reuse assets anymore like they used to either, especially since handhelds are dead. Hell don't even expect a gacha either, KH doesn't work with KH very well. Probably gonna be another ten years because they'd probably start working on FFXVII.
I hope that thing Nomura said about KH4 being a little different is true and Donald and Goofy never join up with Sora, but regardless of who's your party, I hope you have a bit more direct control over them. Like I wish the series combat was a bit more team oriented, after KH1 they basically gave up on that and your party was basically just there as extra support equipment.
