Machine Guns came into D2 in FotL 2018 with Thunderlord, and then Hammerhead came out with Black Armory like a month later for a legendary one. That was in Forsaken, which gave us special weapons as well so machine guns could survive as heavy ad-clear weapons again (because of special DPS weapons).

Armor is a different story, tier 5 armor is guaranteed 75 stat rolls every time and tier 4 is above the old max armor roll range so it's just better. Since we no longer get seasons, it's going to x amount per week, so that's the only "real" change there.

The start of the seasonal model no longer bringing permanent additions to the game, the move to F2P with battle passes, the FUCKING stadia port they got conned into doing, the promise of so much and delivery of "oh ok", followed by a year of ups and downs that culminated in a 3 month delay, content vaulting and sunsetting. I've finally learn't why I prefer D1 over D2 in terms of GAMEPLAY (disregarding other stuff like sound design, art direction etc)So game have 3 main categories of skill.Micro - (Execution) tests your physical execution, raw skill, muscle memory, timing, and reflexesMarco - (Systems) tests long-term strategy, routing, resource management, and understanding the mathematically optimal way to winMezo - (Probability & Mind Games) tests your ability to read opponents, manage randomness, and react to human unpredictability rather than game mechanicsDestiny 1 was more MICRO focused while Destiny 2 is more MACRO focused.Destiny 1 your guns do more damage (especially the crit multiplier) and enemies hit you harder (which is why D1 checks D2 players when they try it).Destiny 2 on the other hand relies more on builds and abilities than good aiming in general. PvP uses all 3 but focuses mainly on MICRO and MEZO.
