Toyotaro's hyperautism of needing everything DB to be explained, means that one day (if they let him continue, that is), he WILL try to explain why Vegeta goes back to serving under Frieza in Neko Majin Z.

It can be, but it has a lot of issues. The game actually somehow brought back an earlier, crashing issue. Character unlocking is fine initially, but a complete pain in the ass eventually because of zeni requirements, and memory requirements, and the latter in particular means you'll have to play as the whole roster just enough to get shards to level up consistently, and it's specially a need as a F2P. Even if you do get plenty of free characters from the weekly missions, if you unlock enough characters from the star road, you'll be forced to get memories over another character. On the gameplay side of things, some divine draws are really obnoxious to deal with. The healing draw means your team is very likely to lose if you don't have a SS3 Goku (As he has wide AoE and that really helps in the healing draw), the ranked mode has no way to turn off the divine draws too. Right now, tanks are rat gods because if you're not running Icarus/Tao, then you're worse off. With Icarus, you can just fly around uninterrupted (Unless you hit a wall), which makes it very easy to attack a tower and bail. Just yesterday I had a game where I went to finish off a tower, all four players from the enemy team attacked me, and I used Tao and escaped... Also, until you reach A ranks, you'll have bot teammates, which's very fucking obnoxious. The games also may randomly throw you against stacks. The balance is a mess, with some weak characters being really weak, and bullshit characters really strong. SSG Goku in particular, he (seemingly) started weak, got a nice batch of buffs that made him pretty damn strong, and then they buffed him again and he's too much, at worst he's top 2... Also they have a habit of releasing overtuned characters (SSG Vegeta and kid Buu were very clear cases) only to nerf them once they're free.

In a contest of 80 characters its no surprise some universes didn't even get 1 stand out, Universe 3's biggest stand out is the Hachyache knock off fusion , Universe 4's biggest stand out was Caway the girl who was gonna get plapped by maxed out Roshi if she didn't run off, i still find it funny her fighting style was basically what Gas's fighting style is only she used energy constructs of items like a green lantern would rather than materialization like Gas does and when that failed she tried to rely on her looks and almost lost her chastity as a result.

Universe 10 was the biggest disappointment for me not a single memorable face among them and absolutely no screen time to make us care about those losers, Gowasu and their angel were the stand out instead, maybe their supreme kai, he was the fat one who lost his shit after being billed as a reserved guy, right? a real disappointment considering this was Zamasu's home universe missed oppertunity to have one of their contenders be a civilized version of that species that Zamasu saw that drove him to his evil in the first place to show that Gowasu fucked up showing that one specific area and planet when the species is muti planet or something, but whatever.

Obuni wasn't even a fight it was Gohan knocking an already beat man off condeming him and his family as far as Gohan knew to an immediate death.

The Obuni fight was also what started the GOHAN BLANCO VS EL GRANDE PADRE memes, which shaped not only Dragon Ball but power level internet discussion in general to this day

There is an ironic idea over Nuova (Most selfish wish, is the only heroic shadow dragon) and Omega (IIRC the wish that created him was used to resurrect Namekians, is the most evil shadow dragon) but nothing beyond that. I'm not even sure if those two cases are intentional since the wish that created Naturon is also a selfless "resurrect those killed by Vegeta in the tournament", but he's initially a joke. Although I guess him absorbing others is a Buu reference, but he was created as a consequence of Vegeta's actions... I also find hilarious Nuova is talked like he's Eis' younger sibling, but Nuova was created from the third wish ever made, the first two are covered by other shadow dragons (Oceanus from Oolong's panty wish, Haze from Goku's wish to resurrect Upa's father), and later material claimed Eis was created from the wish of erasing everyone's memories of Buu. So, Nuova, the younger sibling, is older than his older sibling by over 20 years.

No one is going to write Toriyama's DB. Toriyama is someone who wrote a shonen with wuxia elements and added references to whatever cool movie he watched, on top of his rather unique sense of humor and mostly interesting subversions. That isn't to say someone shouldn't make an effort to emulate it as much as possible, but point is no one will write DB like him. While I have a bunch of problems with Tuffle Quest, she wrote a fanfic that very much tries to be DB, but has Kato's very own unique take on it. Something with this kind of effort and passion is way more valuable than Salagir going 2smrt4u edginess.

I'm still bummed Age 1000 turned out to be Xenoverse 3. I really wanted either a DBO 2 (as a single player ARPG obviously) or a Genshin clone with a DB skin. I'm holding out a bit of cope that this will still keep DBO's spirit alive, I hope the next trailer actually sheds some light on what's going to happen.

I also foolishly thought that tech had advanced to a point where anime games could look like their CGI cutscenes. It doesn't look bad at all, and it looks like how I'd expect the third Xenoverse game to look in 2018, but when I look at it as this huge DB game they're bigging up, it's not at all what I expected. But I guess that's another take we have to wait for the next trailer to solidify

Look on some level, I can understand it. I won't say that I like it, but I also won't say I don't comprehend it. Goku's the big protagonist of Dragon Ball, the face of it, strong and cool and well-liked, the guy that kids and adults alike still copy some aspects of to this day (just look at how many know the motions for the Kamehameha by heart), so to some, making a character that can outdo him is tempting because there's a sense of transferring some of that onto that OC. It's a very simple string of logic of "Goku is cool, I want my OC to be cool, if my OC beats Goku he'll be cool." The problem comes, like I said, when that turns into a sense of resentment (narratively, not originating from the character but from the author).

A few weeks ago I was reading a DB fanfic where Goku landed in Naruto's setting, and Goku plays by DB's rules and everyone else is confused at how much his rules are different, so in that case the difference is acknowledged and is part of the story.

The closest thing I can think of her being resentful of Goku is how Goku is comparatively not as smart in Tuffle Quest. Everyone else grows alongside him in power, so he never jumps too far ahead of everyone. By an odd coincidence, he also got bad rolls during training events like raioken that temporarily made him lag behind others who caught on faster like Tien. Her most questionable writing moment when it comes to Goku's talent was when Kaio told Goku to keep super saiyan active at all times so he gets used to the form, devaluing Goku's intelligence when he is the one who had the idea originally, and while I didn't like that moment, I never imagined this was a resentful moment, just Kato not seeing how important it was for Goku to come up with that. In short, she accidentally devalued Goku, but since Goku is the most major character in the story, had an actual effort when it comes to his romance with Maple, and still is generally just ahead of everyone else, it's clear she likes him.

In Tuffle Quest it can be something as simple as adapting the Funnels/Bits from Gundam into an actual Ki technique that some characters learn, both by making it match certain things that already appear in the series (ex: Yamcha's Spirit Ball) and also drawing on things that are actually in the series directly (Bulma's family hand out a literal Gunpla kit in Jaco, therefore the kids can watch Gundam with Bulma and Yamcha and get inspired by it). Or it can be as involved as this weaving all these lore tidbits inspired by Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger and a bunch of other things into something that happened in the DB Earth's equivalent to the Bronze Age Collapse (because she's also a big history nerd) that resulted in the "Age of Heroes" Olibu was from, and even tying that into stuff like Garlic's race and Majin Ozotto and even Izzy's Magical Girl stuff.

Honestly even when Goku's actually behind in terms of power, it never feels like it's the result of any kind of actual animosity toward him, and he's always really quick to catch up himself. She also tends to write him as thrilled by there being so many more people close to his level that he can challenge himself with. He's able to develop some skills way earlier, like the Dragon Fist.

It is kinda funny to think about the sheer contrast between Salagir's "Only Vegito is cool enough to use the Dragon Fist" and Kato's "Goku learns it before Vegeta shows up, Towa and Gero create three whole Demon-Androids designed to be able to copy it, and Goku's is still better because he put in the effort to actually train and develop it."
