It's going to be a long two weeks.What approach are you guys taking for your first playthrough?Casually going through, fighting or sparing as you see fit, not really caring about secret bosses or hidden items, or full Mega-Gamer where you see everything and do everything.I feel like Undertale really benefited from the idea that we're supposed to do our first run as a Neutral run where we can gain LV and have an easier time against some bosses, then after a melancholy and kind of underwhelming ending, we're encouraged to go back and see if we can do it better this time. The game isn't long enough to make "You did it wrong, now do it again, fucko" into a ragequit moment, especially if you enjoyed the game as is, so I think it works as sufficient build up to the actual ending. It also lets you get further acquainted with the foreshadowing and callbacks everywhere.I only recently realized this, but there's a lot of bite-sized bits of content and experiences that you just completely miss out on if you only play Pacifist from a properly deleted save file. Stuff like how on a repeat playthrough, Toriel remembers whether you chose Butterscotch or Cinnamon, or how Flowey points out that you killed her if you reset to do it differently. I feel like those early game jolts do a lot to add to the feel of the game.Come to think of it, does that kind of thing even happen after the Ruins? I genuinely can't remember.

The other is also in Chapter 1, which means this was absolutely an abandoned mechanic Toby didnt give a shit about after implementing (just like damage sparing in undertale im sensing a pattern), that being you can instantly tire out Rudinns by using Ralsei's Manual on them, and then Pacify them same turn. Watching Asgore pick two straws from the overhanging tufts wheat right besides the road on our normal morning walk route, which then almost immediately led into a playful sword fight with in our mouths as we giggled quietly (though it turned out all for naught, as I ended up accidentally tickling his nose and caused him a booming sneeze so loud it assuredly woke people in the nearby houses [we sped our pace to escape notice]). Contemplating ways of making Asgore's day feel extra special as I lay propped up besides him twirling his golden hair around my finger while he snores in relaxed slumber, until eventually I come up with the plan of an entire day spent in nature with a romantic walk through the park, some peaceful fishing, and a lovely picnic dinner to top it all off before we perhaps make out on the blanket together for a while (I was so eager to get his opinions on ways to spice up our day together, but I figured the best way to start was snuggling back into his side to enjoy his warmth just a little longer)
