Personally I don't think it's at all an issue unless you're constantly doing it on posts that have nothing to do with your images. And since we're in a vr thread it's not weird to post avatars, so it doesn't really apply as stringently here.

Back in the olden days of the site there was a fad of extremely obnoxious tripfags and avatarfags who would spam their character everywhere. And they would throw shitfits when other people, who usually had no idea these other headcases existed, posted images of 'their' character without permission. So there's a bit of historical animosity there.

do any of you guys own a BSB2(e) and is it dogshit? I was waiting for the frame but I took a few days to figure out what I want and what I like, and I realized that I hate having a battery on the back of my head and I am sick of strapping a tracker to my face (I own a Quest Pro)

I've seen some youtube reviews and they all seem to just point out glare and blur as the problems, I'm used to glare/godrays in my headsets and I'll send it back if its bad enough, but I'm not quite sure what they mean by "persistence blur" because only a few people mention it.

What I want is something I can throw on and use with little effort (wired, no VD or software updates before I can start the thing), use for a long period of time without discomfort (not having to swing around a brick to track people in dogfights) and look clear visually (stuff is readable from a distance, like while sitting in cars and planes, etc). I want the eye tracking for VRChat so I'll throw that on if I get it.

I guess I also want to know how good that return policy is? (Im a leaf, so no EU warranty extension) And have they fixed all those teething problems when they first released the 1 & 2? (the dead pixels and red/orange around the top or bottom of the lenses.) (the Quest Pro has this with yellow around its lenses but its not really that bad)

My opinion is that it's not worth the money, but it's not dogshit at all. It has some downsides, and some upsides to make up for it. Display is dim, FOV is so-so and you have to wear it close to your face, red/orange color shift is still present, but it's also insanely light and comfortable i might have won the custom gasket gacha and optics/resolution is really, really good. Another upside in that regard is that due to custom gasket, it sits welded on your face, so I never feel like I should readjust it to get closer to the sweet spot. Sometimes I use it as a display to play flat vidya, this is how good it is.

I'd never dare to actively recommend it to anyone, but I'd never sell or return mine. I wanted a simple LH-based wired headset, so this is probably among the best I can have.

I feel the same about my quest pro, being pretty shit overall but being saved by 1 or two things. I also wouldn't recommend this to anybody. (atleast at the launch price I paid) plus I do just want to go back to wired + lighthouse, grass seemed greener back then but now I know this shit has so many small annoyances I really dgaf anymore and I don't expect Valve to fix it.
Interesting point about using it for flat screen, the Quest Pro almost allowed me to do that but it was too uncomfortable to use for a long period of time from my experience (even with the globular cluster stuff).

of the 15 HMDs currently in my possession it is the one I primarily use for PCVR
other higher end option for wired with native steamvr would maybe be pimax dream air or meganex with sboys driver but those have a lot of teething issues to deal with; if you have a 3d printer though you can solve most of em

Immediately after I run room setup my boundary will rotate a few degrees under one of the base stations. It's rotating the whole fucking thing into a wall and sometimes it comes out slanted. The current multibox world is https://vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_5fc10217-ca62-483a-a242-0ddb47ebba26/info . Instead of the earlier convoluted multitrack grid encoding process, they're pretty vanilla separate vizvid video players now. So you can upload the files wherever and queue the urls manually. VRChat limits you to loading 1 url every 5 seconds, so they'll play staggered, but you could pause and scrub them to the same time and press play on all 6 I guess. For encoding, I recommend using https://github.com/hiinaspace/animutools, lower the scale to 640:-1 or so, and mux as HLS VOD segments/playlists.

Wow you did the same exact thing as me even in the same pattern. I noticed the USB-C connection from the BSB2E for audio out SUCKS, it's distorted and noisy and crashes on some dongle DACs. It doesn't look pretty but the lowest effort solution for me was to zip tie a 10 foot long headphone cable to the leash and run the IEMs straight to the PC's external DAC.

And if you want better audio quality you need better than a Zero:2

even if the hardware of the frame is kind of a sidegrade of the quest, you have to look at the whole package. Valve has demonstrated that they can write functional software and they understand the VR space. Zucc spent 70+ billion to buy his way to the top and pissed it all away by completely failing at what should have been the easiest part.
