But surely you don't just tell your student to her face that 'haha you look fine girl this is definitely not gonna get me fired' just like that. Not Toru. Even if that doesn't get him in trouble, he's a different guy than Sensei. He is in a position to ask what Nadeko exactly means. Because this is a relationship escalator that Toru has to be sure he's ready to be on, since Nadeko's ready to be on, so it's understandable that Toru has to confirm thrice.
