I didn't get much done today. All I had planned was making a sprite/texture for a recently harvested wheat field so I could place it on planes and then place on the terrain. But my handpainted bullshit looked bad even at 90s style low resolution. So I took a picture of some real organic material (a dead bamboo stalk and some long dry leaves) and arranged them into wheat stubble. Then I used these as grass details in Unity. I don't like that they sway in the wind coz wheat stubble is too rigid to do that but I can't seem to turn the wind of in the details editor. Anyway, I already showed my pumpkin prefab but I decided to ditch the leaf part of the model and just use the leaf texture as a grass detail around placed pumpkins. Novel complete. Pics to come tomorrow.

Does it make sense to have the radar display be biased or just just show proportional location?Right now I made it so that it's biased using pow(2) for blip radius, so radar has higher resolution reserved for closer contacts. Downside is that since it's distorted the enemy blob appears more clustered than friendlies since they are further away, Could probably just make it proportional but then I have the tradeoff of close contacts being hard to distinguish in a brawl again.

AI sensors use faction logic now. Old behavior was entities casting a ray of a certain length to see if they had a direct line of sight to the player. New behavior is they cast a sphere, see if anything they are hostile towards is within the radius of the sphere. Then they cast a ray for direct line of sight. Need to stress test things but with a handful of entities the system is running at about 0.009ms
