If you don't do that, your armoury gets shitclogged with gear, like at levels that you cannot reasonably maintain. They all use the same gear, so if you don't do them all simultaneously, you'll end up rebuying the same shit over and over again. It's probably better to level a different job and/or experience some of the side content (PotD or HoH come to mind, I blew a lot of time on PotD when I was in the free trial because I hated the quests between ARR and HW)
