It's a genuine shame that there aren't more RPG protagonsts like Shion. I feel like entire too many stories are deathly afraid that the audience will get mad if the MC is a genuinely flawed and damaged person. And they do, is the sad part. It's why people latch on to villains, cause there's an unfair expectation on heroes to be self-insert paragons, but deep down people want to be able to relate to people who kinda suck a little.

I have dismal expectations for this becoming true but my ideal gameplay for Genesis is, firstly, for them to replace the autoattack with a dedicated attack button. I don't care if it's the same difference, autoattack has always been kinda lame. At least let the player feel more involved in the real-time combat. Next, make the flow snappier and more impactful, like a fusion of FF7R and FF16 with 3-4 party members max and with arts on the face buttons like XVI. Art build-up is primarily based on hit like in XB2 and each character will have a unique build and playstyle based on their interchangeable weapon.It's too early to hypothesize a playstyle for all the character yet but Eleanor's being based on countering with a unique parry mechanic feels right. Monolithsoft will certainly think of a better battle system than that as this will be the game that, "revolutionizes RPGs"
