I'm in HR, rank 89 and i have 3 gamma Rey Dau pieces for Guts and 2 Lagiacrus pieces for Azure Bolt damage (BIS UT2 set i think, disregarding my non optimized decorations). I don't cart ever but it's only because i do 4 player hunts for these tough monsters (AT Rey, AT Uth), so other players can take the attention away while i chug, i play Bow and SNS, the shield helps a lot since i can ignore a lot of mispositioning with a (perfect) guard.

Monster hunter stories 3 was the first one I gave a shot since I gave up on worlds and it was pretty fun even if forcing Ratha into your party (don't care if it's an extra slot. It's power + fire I won't need because of him.) was lame. I don't hate ratha, but not letting you remove him was lame. I do however hate that fucking palico they force on you too. Otherwise, fun game with a lot of nice monsters and likable characters. I hope it gets more content in the future! Also Eleanor is very cute. No-one asked, but I wanted to share some of the (overall) great fun I had playing the game.

my hunts are both faster and more engaging without cats because i get to hit the head more and constantly dodge and the monster doesnt randomly aggro something else, cats are bad for your skill and only exist to teach you multiplayer hunting

>>570717946>>570720608Thanks, i just beat Omega with a heavy bowgun build, i had to go spread and use the bots since randoms kept carting super hard, in the end i managed to do it with 3 JP's with 0 carts. I'll note down these sets but i kept my usual armor set for my fights so far, i like the idea of your armor choice for SnS. I think GOG armor will be insane upgrade but i'm at HR 96 atm. I adjusted my radial to be max pot craft and am carrying 5 cata 5 mandragora, 10 high pot, both dusts and overdosing on seeds and drugs. Seems good so far, i think i just locked in.

>>570725176Gog armor is okay-ish as an upgrade because it's essentially a comfort engine that you can use to mix and match multiple armor skills and highly customize whatever you're running, but whether it is better than AT clownsuits largely depends on the weapon and how good you are at the game.Four/Three pieces Gog for Mutual Hostility 2 is not bad at all for something like Bow because you can also throw in something like two pieces of Gore armor/Sororal for Black Eclipse 1 and benefit from both a really good HP shield+ elemental buff and Gore's affinity buff for optimal damage, but you have to roll Gogmapocalypse/Gore's soul on a Gogmartian bow which is a pain in the ass.For SnS though I'd never run 3/4 Gog because there's better armor skills out there that play on SnS' strengths like the set I posted earlier which is not even remotely optimal either.My current SnS set for instance is>AT Udra>AT Jin>Transcended G.Rath>AT Jin>Transcended RathBecause I get to play around Scorcher, get buffed for power clashes AND also get Lord's soul and three levels in Burst, it's not particularly optimal but I do get pretty high damage, Guts in case I fuck up once in a while and I do get to use and abuse my shield too, AND I don't need to ever engage with Gog's Casino at all which is my biggest concern with the current endgame honestly.Imo the most valuable defensive skills in the game which you should invest in if you want to be almost immortal are Divine Blessing, Recovery up and Recovery Speed.Recovery speed is particularly cracked in Wilds are you won't believe how good it is to simply passively recover red health, it's fast as fuck and just two pieces of Zoh can add even more ticks to that so that the actual damage you take is fairly minimal as long as you don't get combo'd to death.G.Ark's set bonus is also potentially busted if you pair it with flayer but G.Ark pieces are pretty bad so there's no reason to ever run it, Ascendance will probably change that.
