It's been around since MGB that Lumen/Joule does have the capability to fight, but she doesn't for reasons. People on here say it's learned helplessness or that she's better in a support role. Probably the latter, looking at how much Zonda, Layla, Lola, and Morb, sucked at direct combat despite all their immense power, but there are cases where Joule could have come in clutch if she'd resisted more. Mytyl in the joke ending seems like she might be willing to use the Muse for fighting, at least.

>Zonda: By employing her songs and the technology obtained from Sumerai, it is possible to evolve all adepts to even greater heights. If these empowered adepts band together, even the numerically superior Old Humans would be unable to contend with them.

I like how Zonda's plan is naive and assumes adepts will willingly come together in a global movement to eradicate the nonadepts and build a utopia when she couldn't even get GV and the Sumeragi adepts on her side, but GV is like "oh my God, you evil genius, non-adepts are doomed if you succeed." I don't know if this is a weakness in the writing or just both of them being kinda dumb. It's probably the flimsiest of the villain plans, but they're all kind of dumb, except Asimov's. That guy's plan was actually actionable and came closest to succeeding (or did in iX), though shooting Joule was stupid evil since he wanted to use the Muse (but maybe he knew about Mytyl beforehand, so who knows).

I think he did know about Mytyl, because one of the drama CDs has him trying to kidnap her and getting his ass kicked by Nori IIRC. So shooting Joule isn't as retarded, especially if he knows that it's all going to go back to Mytyl anyway.

He didn't want her power in someone else's hands. If they're not going to agree to be his King and Queen, it's a liability to let them run around opposing him.

Asimov is an adult while all the other villains are half his age.

Also, though Zonda wouldn't know this before she absorbed the muse, but it gave her octima, meaning she wouldn't have needed the other adepts to wipe out humanity. Hell, she could have probably elevated everyone to adepthood since she could rewrite reality. Again, she couldn't have foreseen the immense power she'd have gotten. She probably just thought it'd be her septima with the muse on top instead of the synergy, which is why she was talking about using the Sumeragi muse amplification tech beforehand.

>>570831252
It goes against the themes of Gunvolt for Zonda to change her beliefs and find redemption:

>From a philosophical angle, I think Gunvolt is actually far edgier in many respects since, unlike many shonen, it states there is no hope of coexistence, that differences cannot be overcome, understanding cannot be reached, and problems cannot be solved. Whenever there is a chance for dialog, the response is to double down with more hatred and violence. There is not a single adept or nonadept who start off hating the other side and learn to love one another. The only resolution is death, and almost everyone does end up dying by the end, no matter their age or appearance. It is extremely bleak.

>All the likable and vibrant characters' deaths are pointless and hollow as nothing will be resolved. GV never hit Sumeragi's upper management or got revenge against its true monsters in GV1. In GV2, he just attacked the symptom of the true disease and then left once the battle was done. Meanwhile, the Sumeragi executives and genocidal demagogues will continue to prosper.

>Shonen has a tradition of redemption, to the point of being retarded sometimes. Just look at one of the ur-examples in Vegeta, for instance. Even edgier ones play with this. Gunvolt does not do redemption, despite its main villains being misguided antivillain types who want to do good. They get the door slammed hard on them, with GV telling them that they don't deserve it. Before GV3, there was not one villain who was allowed to cross over, despite some of them doubting their actions or not even being that evil. Again, it's edgier. It's almost seinen level, even if it's packaged as a shonen with shonen tropes.

All the people who are shown to be tolerant and good were always tolerant and good. There is no crossover or change of heart. Even iX in the OCW still wants to kill all adepts and only gave up as he sees it as an impossible task. Gunvolt is really grimdark and nihilistic at its heart.
>>
>>570830369
Looking at how the stars were A OK with it and how the muse is basically the doki doki effect but very unrefined I say that things would have worked out for 53% of the adept population and 47% of the minos population. And for the rest there must be a DBZ like canyon to settle things nearby.

It does seem kinda retarded when you say it and then back it up with "the stars" even if you're correct.

Gunvolt literally turns into a dragon, Acura loses it all, and most of all how the plan with the Diva would get everyone killed.

>Are these the takeaways that Tsuda

Tsuda is out of touch. He thought that GV and Quinn were enough to show that adepts and nonadepts could get along together, when Quinn is explicitly stated to be an exceptional case (she's already a weirdo since she can see spirits), and she's super nice and tolerant of everyone, to the point of being boring. GV was always tolerant himself, like >>570832414 said.

And then Tsuda later said that Copen is what the average nonadept thinks, and then that's backed up by stuff like Clockwork where the nameless nonadept lady was even more extreme than Copen. And the final thing Tsuda said was that he was fine with GV2 being the final game. He felt that he got everything he wanted to say across, and what was said was

>there is no hope of coexistence, that differences cannot be overcome, understanding cannot be reached, and problems cannot be solved. Whenever there is a chance for dialog, the response is to double down with more hatred and violence.

No he doesn't. He calls them vermin, rats, monsters, etc. all the time. The description from the OCW states:

>普段は冷静だが、第七波動能力者を見ると暴走する傾向があり、そのせいで失敗を引き起こすことがある
Although usually calm, he tends to lose control when he sees an Adept, which can lead to failure.

He really hates adepts and wants to kill them. He enjoys their misery and deaths. The OCW says that he thinks they and their powers are disgusting and shouldn't exist.

Then there's his dialog in game. Here's an example of how he usually reacts to an adept's death:

Copen:
>この傀儡(デク)の中で果てたか... ヤツには過ぎた棺桶だ
So he met his end burning to death inside his puppet... It was a coffin far too good for the likes of him.

That's why people on here love it so much. They want more of the hollow feeling you get from pointless deaths and battles where you have lost everything for a victory that has achieved nothing of lasting value. They want more tragic villains like Zonda who die unmourned with little comment, GV to be more spiteful and uncaring to the plights that motivate his enemies, and the themes in >>570832414 . That is what Gunvolt means to them: a perpetual slide into the abyss with no light at the end of the tunnel.

Adepts are baked in. Unless it's typical INTI timeline mismanagement or Shinobu, Kaoruko, Junko, Kaname, and the rest waited until right before menopause to have children, the first generation of adepts should be alive and active in Gal Gun, they're just not common knowledge yet. When the Gal Gun girls have kids (GV and Copen's generation), that'll be when you get your first huge surge of adepts.

Gal Gun is sparse on details of the outside world, so things might already be going badly behind the anime hijinks. Asimov himself could be alive while the doki doki madness is going on, for instance.

No Asimov's the one that says it at the end of GV1, was even joked to be a Capcom reference back then by some. They write this shit, as shown when Ekoro calls up "the goddess" about Houdai when he gets with Maya and the goddess pulls up a fucking file and says "yup Shinobu Kamizono was his intended lover" until it changes to Maya due to the power of love as she's reading it.
Ekoro is of course, afraid. As she basically messed with the order of heaven but goes "surely this is fine".
We now know it was not fine, the exact opposite actually.

Galgun's world has always had supernatural elements, the Kamizonos for instance is an ancient and exalted clan of demon hunters who've known about spirits for centuries, if not millennia. It's not until the retarded angels made a big whoopsie that adepts started blossoming forth.
He's like mid twenties right? Shinobu is a 2nd grade highschooler, so that would make her 17 at the time of DP. If Asimov was born in the years following the Sakurazaki incident, that would leave her a decade or so of being single before being put into an arranged marriage with Dr. K and getting plapped fat with twins in her late twenties, giving us the 10 year gap between Asimov and GV/Copen & Mytyl, who're all the same age.

In essence yeah. It works in Megaman because even if reploids are all designed to be subservient to humans and perform specific functions, they're still as equally capable of thoughts, emotions and self-determination. It's only when they get TOO independent and dissatisfied with their lot in life being 'bringing the butter' that they get labeled Mavericks and destroyed by their own kind.

In Gunvolt it's just stupid darkness for cheap shock value that ultimately leads nowhere.
>>
>>570849195
So...her original plan.
>>
>>570849636
Her original plan is powering up all adepts and uniting to defeat those that would harm them. She probably believes most if not all minos would rather die killing adepts than living and loving together in piece due to all the evils she's seen as well as Tenjian reading "the non-septimal problem" by Raptor to her.

When you beat the game you get to pick any noise
This includes base megaman that can gather noise
When you get 200% noise and above you can do a soft finalize and access the meteor server without transforming (and your noise doesn't drop either)
Dunno if it was actually viable or just for memes

I'm surprised Tsuda didn't make Zonda win. Copen then overloads his power armor and nuke himself and Zonda, burning his little sister's corpse to ash in the process. Then Lockevolt gets to see a new era of super powered adepts strike back against minos.

Except for the fact that adepts come to quickly dominate the world in a few decades. The only reason humans are able to oppress them at the start is because of numbers. Powerful adepts without arming are not capable of destroying armies and cities by themselves, contrary to what many assume from the games.

Only a small handful of adepts have combat capable powers. Most of them are better off using guns. Gibril herself mostly uses a gun in the drama CDs, and her powers are just there to get a bit of flexibility and an advantage. You see pic related? This is what a normal high level adept fight looks like without arming. Nova, GV, Asimov, ZED, and Zonda are exceptionally powerful adepts and outliers. GV himself is implied to be armed (see his conversation where he compares his rings to glaives in GV1, or how everyone calls him "Armed Blue" in the Japanese version).

Sumeragi controls all arming tech, and controls when an adept can access their glaive. Only Pantera was able to crack how to reproduce and improve upon Sumeragi's glaive and muse tech, and she took that to the grave when GV stabbed her with a Strizer.

>Plus he gets to be sad and cool and above Zonda and Copen cus they died at each other's hands cus of hate.

GV wouldn't get sad over Zonda. He'd be saying something about how she got what she deserved, and he's happy she's dead, if he said anything at all, which he probably wouldn't. The ultimate insult is to not even think about your enemy after they die. They don't deserve the mental space. Copen, he might feel a little bad for.

Game Nova
>a twat with a god complex who wants to enslave and rule over adepts using the muse

Expanded Universe Nova
>Anime rules on age don't apply here. He's actually a sad boy who has nightmares about mommy and daddy abandoning him for Gunvolt and hates violence. He just wants a world where everyone, even his enemies, can be happy, but says that an impossible dream and actually hates project muse, seeing it as the best option among a host of bad choices.
>Also, the god complex and the craziness of all the Sumeragi bosses when they transform is explained as a side effect of the armed phenomenon, it's not their actual selves.

Game Zonda
>creepy, emotioneless, souless adult in a child's body who masterminds the genocide of all nonadepts.

Expanded Universe Zonda
>What, a kid masterminding a global revolutionary movement? Get real, it's her brother who has the real power and plans 90% of everything, she's just a figurehead. She actually opposes the senseless revenge killings.
>She's also a kid. All the fancy words, composure, and high intelligence, and she'll still get breathlessly excited about kid stuff, likes playing around, can be convinced to believe and do stupid/embarassing things by the people she trusts on subjects she's clueless in, and gets babied by Tenjian, Gibril, and Desna at times

Why does the Expanded Universe want us to hate GV so much? For what purpose do they inflict this hurt upon us? Without it, GV's a badass who's killed some evil freaks. Good on him. With the EU stuff, it makes his behavior where he's proud and feeling good about killing them gross.

And INTI never actually does anything with any of this. GV never has to confront that he's killed people instead of monsters. They just put it out there for the shock and tragedy, and move on. The EU stuff pisses me off so much. It forces you to look at these characters through a more realistic lens instead of the over-the-top anime one, and it sucks.

>>570854834
Bingo, that's his characterization in Card-en-Ciel. He's one of the protagonists who is quickest to jump to fighting, and he's one of the few who is explicitly trying to kill you from the start. Most of them just want to rough you up. Copen, in comparison, is laid back and its clear his fight isn't to the death. He also actually talks to you and tries to figure out what's going on instead of jumping to accusations.
>>
>>570855373
I'd like to see more of Copen when he's dealing with fellow augmented humans. Talking shop about how their powers work. Trying to bring stuff back to his world to crush the vermin. All the other people innocently rooting him on and helping him out cus the way Copen describes things makes everyone think it's horrible monsters.

>Isn't that GV3?
Apparently he might not be as remorseful in the Jap script and still feels good about killing most of the bosses, including characters like Elise and Zonda. The only character he regretted was Nova. I'm not really asking for regret, just him to be like "yeah, shits fucked, but I did what I had to do" instead of "they got what they fucking deserved, and I am happy I did it" to characters who the EU portray like >>570854725

I know he has a limited PoV, and his view is justified from that PoV, but it is a really disgusting tactic INTI is pulling here on the audience, and I don't know why. It makes GV less sympathetic for no reason, when they want him to be sympathetic. They're not going to do anything with it. They haven't challenged GV's perspective at all outside of Nova. He still sees these characters the same way. It's just edge for the sake of edge.

Why else depict the characters as more human and realistic to their ages in the EU when in the games, they're just "anime people?" Congrats, now your hero feels good about being a child killer, when before, it was just another evil short adult, because you dolts decided to throw out anime conventions in your expanded universe.
>>
>>570857532
Honestly, I feel like the original plan was to make GV into the villain of a later game, but then they backtracked

So now we have an asshole "hero" who's really fucked up instead of someone who had the best intentions in mind at first but definitely wasn't quite right in the head, and over time was fully corrupted into being the villain after dealing with what he dealt with in GV1 and GV2
>>
I want to see one instance where GV actually says he felt good about killing the people that is stated he felt good killing, no interpreting due to him talking back to hostile guilt tripping, just raw "yeah die you are a monster" to a character that isn't a blatant hate sink like Asimov or Merak, because I'm convinced I played very different games from the rest of this thread or this place too high up on its own overinterpretation and using retcons from a card battler released almost 8 years after GV2.

I think a lot of it is because Tsuda has creative control, so you end up with colder, more inhuman characters and scenarios in the game. The other INTI writers want to do more "human" and slightly more realistic characters, so that's what they write in the dramas. You will never have a kino line that hits the feels this hard in any of the Gunvolt games, even though it encapsulates almost all the major young protagonists and antagonists:

Girl [To Acura]*
>おにいさんも…迷子なんですか?
Are you also… a lost child, Mister?

Because it's too sentimental, and thus, not cool, so Tsuda would veto it. Unfortunately, Tai can't capture the same charm he had back in GV2, even if Tsuda let him write like that.

*The girl and her foster brother are meant to be a reference to Pantera and Tenjian, btw. Acura has almost the opposite lines to them.
>>
>>570858335
>just raw "yeah die you are a monster" to a character
Didn't he do that to Zonda and Nova, more in his tone of voice than anything else? Think most people are confusing his satisfaction at mission accomplishment with killing though. They're two different things. He's pretty neutral to killing generally. Even Elise gets a "I'm okay" and "I'll give you the highlights [of the fight] when I get back" instead of any condemnation of Sumeragi or tired resignation. He was happy about killing Teseo and Gauri. Teseo was annoying, but he wasn't doing anything evil at the moment GV went to stop him. He was actually exposing Sumeragi crimes, and had picked an abandoned facility to do so.
>>
>>570860250
>more in his tone than anything else

Still don't get why GV stopped them from uploading all the experimental data/Sumeragi crimes. I think it was just an asspull to explain away how GV doesn't find out his past.

Teseo:
>So, I just uploaded that footage of Sumeragi's human experiments to a video site...The view count is skyrocketing, lol... The comments are absolutely blowing up, too! There's even a "Die, Sumeragi" comment-spam wave going on... Props to the guys making that happen.

GV:
>How morbid... But what's your point?

Teseo:
>Do I really have to spell it out for you? ...You're such a moron. Basically, Teseo—who's attacking that total scum Sumeragi—is the hero here,
while *you*, getting in my way, are the enemy of the world. Oh, by the way, this fight is being livestreamed on the official Eden channel, so stay tuned... The whole world is going wild watching Gunvolt get publicly executed!

GV:
>The world? That's nothing more than a gross overgeneralization of a few people's opinions.

Teseo:
>But sometimes, those few opinions are exactly what change the world. Besides, in this day and age, the Net *is* the world! Just look at this storm of comments... The world—everyone—wants you dead.

GV:
>Don't you dare speak of the world when you're nothing but a puppet dancing to the tune of lies...! Surge forth, Armed Blue! Shatter the digital mind tainted by falsehoods!

(Teseo is killed)

Xiao:
>Great work, GV!

GV:

(Unused)

Xiao:

>躊躇いなき慧雷で、偽愛の楽園を討ち祓えッ!

>Surge forth, Azure Striker!!

All they need to do is show a wholesome ending in GX to blow this up... but they aren't doing that. They could still make it sad with GV, then show his world with Copen, Zonda, Nova, and the rest being friendly. It's important to show former enemies, especially haters, crossing the divide, otherwise it just makes GV look delusional, especially when fucking Copen is considered normal with his beliefs, and Zonda is a moderate as far as Eden is concerned.

Very weekly. The both of them were already predisposed towards being tolerant. They didn't need to overcome any traumautic experiences or how they were raised. Well, I suppose Joule had to overcome trauma, but it was never racially motivated trauma. It would be one thing if she were getting fucked over by Dr. K. as he ranted at her for being a subhuman. It was mostly people who saw her as a tool. It's much stronger to see a hater reevaluate their position than to see someone who already agrees with a position agree with it more.

Choujin Locke had racists getting over their prejudices, working together, and saving the day when they couldn't do it apart. INTI has copied everything else from Locke except for that one point. They haven't even had a femAdept and maleNonadept pairing yet, despite it being a big deal in Locke.
