I prefer what Silver has with the Diamond Cutters because I think it still puts together a constructive story with it's low points and a resolution that ends in something better for him, yes even with characterization issues. Giving Silver a dynamic with characters in Sonic's world, expanding on his fanboying interest in Whisper to a point that went beyond and him understanding her as a person. The dynamic goes from simple fanboyism to them being on equal level even at their lowest points when they get told off by Lanolin. Silver is the only other person Whisper trusted to have a heart to heart about Mimic. He's still a big fan, but they're on more leveled ground.As for him with the Diamond Cutters, I think everything that happened between him and Lanolin as well as Lanolin's faults throughout the last arc do work for the future because now Silver is the one put into the position of maturity for once. Lanolin was wrong, everyone had their faults, he picked up the pieces and made effort to jumpstart that conversation where the rest wouldn't. He gets to shine as a mentor figure to others instead of being perpetually stuck as Blaze's underling to showcase the naive Silver/mature Blaze stuff.He still has work to do on himself, but I think grouping him with other characters who are also still working on themselves works in his favor. Yes 79 did what it did for forced whispangle scenes, but I still feel optimistic about future scenes because of how he handled things with the girls in 76. I want to see more of Silver's maturing side
