If you care about research then get Movario. You should be able to get him since you're already an associate. He's basically a best in slot since he increases the rewards.

I finished mining all the ores needed for the masterwork set. Took me around 24-30 hours of mining. I was just using an Elder Rune Pickaxe +5. It would have taken a bit longer since I skipped mining the Banite ores since I already had them.
If I had to do it again I would get the Pickaxe of Earth and Song and augment it. Or at least get the Primal Pickaxe +5.
