Just like it was the intention to have Classic Sonic show up. Something can be a deliberate choice while still being bad, especially in art. Sega has gotten flak for years now of not giving a wide array of characters enough focus, so this was just throwing fuel on the fire. I think the way to have gone with Gadget would've been how a lot of the old Lego games did it. You get a pre-set cast of characters per levels to play with, then at the end you get a freeplay mode where you can do any level with any combo, and also the ability to design a custom character with a unique combination of abilities. I'm a chill windfag, I just want accurate dialogue from the games.I only complain about media that's supposed to be canon to it, if they didn't want those complaints they'd advertise it as it's own thing.I mean not that many people shit on movie sonic because most people just accept it for what it is.Prime was the same it was more judged on it's own merits, but once the canon label got patched onto it it got flamed even more + it also went downhill in the finale not helping.I didn't care about idw that much until I kept encountering "it's canon btw!1" on an obnoxious level seemingly everywhere.
