Ghost Game completed.Overall really liked it. There's some big tonal issues where it feels like it wants to both be a lighthearted slice of life show with a little bit of action, and simultaneously be a genuinely spooky series with a lot of horror elements. Makes me want a casual fun Digimon series now. Or at least like a gag manga or something. Monster of the week format is fun and I really enjoyed seeing the ones that returned after they were rehabilitated. Mummymon was definitely my favorite of that group. Also thought Espimon might be a bad addition so late to the series but he didn't fuck with the established dynamics all that much and his evo is convenient. Wish Hiro's dad was in it more he seems like a genuinely nice guy and that reveal at the end that he didn't know Gammamon was special and just wanted to give a Digimon who was always getting into fights a chance to be taken care of was really sweet.They fucked with the power scaling a bit by making Gulus so insanely busted OP that you couldn't really have him go Mega and lose without it being strange lol. I like watching dubs to see how americans tried to reinterpret the characters. I think it's interesting. For some reason english digimon dubs have an obsession with highlighting shipping and arguing. This died in 2020 though and most of the dubs are a straight translation now

That's why Planet Buster is rare in shonen anime unless it involves Alien and travelling to another planet far away from the Solar system because where would you find a planet your character can destroy without screwing his own home planet. Digimon's lack of consistency and letting other writers come up with whatever they wants turned this entire franschise into a mess.
