Simply having a reputation of successfully running an MMO for more that 5 years gives you a baseline level of trust and interest with that crowd. I personally have huge gripes with GW2 and Anet even if I think HoT had some of the best map design and that the mounts in GW2 are fun. GW2 was never the sequel to GW1 i wanted it to be, and the devs seemingly hate the original worldbuilding. PoF specifically felt like it was written with all of that early 2010's reddit atheism seethe that was popular at the time, and I think they character assassinated balthazar for it.For GW3 itself, i think the issue is the trailer comes off as the most generic UE5 open world garbage with john highguard and some late cambrian looking mount, with running up the walls like it's a gacha. Its horribly boring and generic, and I think will age very poorly. There's also the concern I have that this was pushed not by Anet, but rather NCsoft because both Throne and Liberty and Aion 2 failed to really get any traction. The latter had hilariously bad monetization so I expect GW3 to nickle and dime us on bags and all that shit incredibly hard. I know they're gonna stick to their no sub, no battlepass stuff but there's a lot of other avenues they WILL use, and I expect their publisher to be pushing them towards it all
