Lessons in Love General #5This general is for the discussion of the English visual novel Lessons in Love, where you take over as the teacher for a class of 20 students trying to make their way through life.>Game linkshttps://djnostyle.itch.io/lessons-in-love (It's free!)https://subscribestar.adult/selebus>ToolsGuide mod: https://f95zone.to/threads/lessons-in-love-progress-and-guide-mod-v0-57-0-cckerberos.106973/Flowchart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11fllvDn805bE_8JOl7TKOTM40O6LJnkN/viewURM (for editing values): https://0x52.dev/mods/Universal-Ren-Py-Mod-1000Puzzle guide: https://attachments.f95zone.to/2025/11/5442808_Lessons_in_Love_Resets.txtFont patch (drag into folder to fix em dashes in the backlog): https://pastebin.com/Ygj3t9h9>Community worksWiki (includes translations for hex/etc): https://lessonsinlove.wiki/Fanart: https://www.lessonsinlovegame.com/galleries/fan-art/>FAQQ: The world is broken and I can't progress! What do?A: That's intentional. Try to work out how to progress, or check the puzzle guide if you really can't figure it out.Q: Is there any way to find scenes easier? I keep getting lost.A: The guide mod in the tools section will show exactly what scenes are available and how to get them at any given time. It's highly recommended. You can also use URM to raise the affection/lust values of characters if you get tired of grinding them.Q: What kind of /vn/ is this, exactly?A: It's a sprawling, 3-million-word long harem dating sim with an emphasis on slice-of-life comedy and romance that at times dips into denpa (schizo) themes and slowly unfurls a grander narrative as a web of drama forms between the cast. Play the start and you'll soon see what's up.Previous thread: >>570403225
Holy shit, how is Lessons in Love's writing THIS fire?Every big name in the visual novel industry can't stop raving about it. What the fuck
>>571286079This is the one.
>>571286196Is kastel even a "big" name in the industry? As far as I can tell, he neither translates nor posts particularly insightful reviews.

>>571286158What are you talking about?I love Maya.
>>571286431He still has a pretty wide reach. With people like moogy, kastel and quof all advertising it, it's almost surreal that it hasn't reached mass appeal yet.
>>571286079nice edit
>>571286582I love Maya so much, bros...
>>571286196Is LiL really that good?
>>571286079I'm posting in this thread.

>>571286079Love the detail with her in the background.
>>571286889The smartest person I know said that Lesson in Love is the most important work of fiction currently being written, and I'm inclined to agree with him. In a sea of the written word where the prevailing ethos is heartless pessimism disguised as drab pessimism, Lessons in Love extols the virtues of a truly idealistic form of love - it, per the name, is one which encourages us to embrace the delusions we call emotions rather than to discard them as errant flights of fancies.Every single JOP I know who has played LiL has been all but tortured at the revelation that the greatest visual novel yet written was not written by the Japanese, but by a random Texan from American writing in English. When put to the musket-tip they've bene forced to acknowledge they prefer it over none other than Subahibi itself. The JOP crowd is almost in disarray as VN discussion becomes outright dominated by English games, with all the years people spent learning Japanese wasted. So yes, it's that good. It's the most important work of fiction currently being written. It is good enough that an otherwise passive librarian of everything feels compelled to make it as known as broadly as possible because their life could not have possibly any grander meaning than introducing even just one person more to it. Lessons in Love is a miracle. And anyone who says otherwise is exactly the type who doesn't view the world as miraculous.
>>571287171>Lessons in Love extols the virtues of a truly idealistic form of loveIsn't that basically all moege(and most VNs in general)???also did you read zato?
>>571287171>The smartest person I knowSelebus?
>>571287289>Isn't that basically all moege(and most VNs in general)???No, I'm talking about something more profound than that. The mercenary lust-driven relationships in most moege can be heartwarming at times but are hardly professions of true idealism (and I mean this in reference to the transcendental idealism of Kant, not just in terms of naivety). The kind of genuine idealism I speak of is rarely found anywhere, not just in fiction, and in terms of VN the closest comparison would be specifically the Heaven's Feel route of F/SN, which you can imagine is a far cry than the tepid emotions depicted in moege.>zatoNot yet. I actually downloaded it but I haven't had time lately. When I have a free afternoon I'll go through it.>>571287426kek
>>571286978I look like this.
Ami is so cute.
>>571287498>transcendental idealism of KantI don't get you. Isn't kant's transcendental idealism about the conditions of the possibility of having experience in the first place and how the mind factors into it?
>>571287672To put it in layman's terms, I'm specifically relating to the sense / nonsense dynamic wherein one has to study the mind directly to transcend mere sensory evidence. The love common in moege is purely reactive - a response to empirical analysis of sensory inputs with no greater understanding of the processes occurring. True love, as it were, is transcendent and not susceptible to empirical analysis. This is to say that a true form of idealistic love would remain no matter what the heart wills because it is based on a priori determinations.
>>571287595I wish I had a niece like Ami.
OK, this made me crack up.It's not funny though.
>>571287781Many of us have been expressing that sentiment.
>>571287595We need more bunny girls.
>>571287426If Selebus was here, he would appreciate you saying that.

>>571288391Seeing this out of context must be confusing as hell lmao.
>>571286196>>571287171It's good but, man, I still don't understand how people can elevate it that much and compare it to the likes of Subahibi. It's not even finished yet and likely never will be.
>>571288628>It's not even finished yetIt has like 30 JEGs worth of content already, and 800 worth of substance, making a 300+ hours long post-modernist epic doesn't just happen overnight.
>headpat autismWhy are nips like that? I have never given or received a headpat in my life.
>>571289054LiL isn't japanese, though.
>>571289207But it takes place in Nippon, LiL bro.
>>571289301Headpats by Maya, or handing them out?I would be fine either way.
>>571289301Same. Headpats with a side of verbal abuse.
>>571289727Selebus needs to add VR support already to allow us to headpat the girls for real.
>deletedAmi deserves my headpats the most anyways.
>>571290327I miss her hair.
