Furthermore, Hina finally mentions a dead student (Yume)Volume F continues, with Kayoko offering more ways students can die, and with Kuroko's backstory containing several dead friends.That's like hours and hours of work to establish and justify death in a setting without it. They do know what is generally needed and how to do it.

Volume EX was just okay in my opinion, I think the character interactions are pretty good, but the story just largely isn't really that interesting to me in this one. It also retreads a lot of structure from Volume F to the point where it feels like it's trying too hard to recapture that success. Ultimately it also feels a little unfair for a single school to get so much attention like this too, Volume F was fun because it was a call back to all the other volumes before it and it built on top of that. Every was included. Obviously re-doing that again would be silly, but it would have been nice if at least one other school was involved, more characters given time to shine. Instead it was just the same Millennium favorites we've been playing with for the past 5 years. Not much has changed there.
