Ive been playing marathon after quitting arc raiders because of there being no endgame and so far marathon has been scratching my "go into a hostile world to scavenge resources to improve your character in a quasi-RPG" but I also hear Tarkov is that but way more contracts, quests, skills, and overall RPG'ness. Is that accurate? I like completing contracts and finishing goals to gather resources and improve my character bit by bit. I see Tarkov on sale, should I grab the base game?

You'll end up spending a ton of time on third party sites to learn anything. It has a massive fucking learning curve and you're going to get raped for the first like 300 hours of gameplay.
