I still think that EN functions like they have the "you might EOS next quarter, we're not saying you will but we're not saying you won't" threat over their heads. EN had YEARS of reference for JP. They KNEW the pace. They KNEW this was going to happen, and they did it anyway. Nah if EN stuck to the OG JP timeline they would have definitely EOS, because a lack of content would have them losing all of the players who didn't that didn't migrate over from JP (aka curious tourists who only picked it up because lol Disney prettyboy gender end game). This exact debate came up even on jp during the early years I was there to witness it until people started noticing most of the ones that were complaining were students and the ones who weren't were working adults. I even remember the comparisons to mhyk releases back then and people glazing how fast mhyk was releasing content but guess which game got another boost in popularity lately and people paying voluntarily because of how satisfied they were with the big ending of a main story arc, not mhyk for sure. It's weird because while "first come first served" seems like a weird way to run two similar franchises simultaneously, I also readily believe that no one inside of disney is talking to each other. Anyways enstars fwiw has endured because for years it provided a consistent quality and quantity of content and was a lot more ambitious with oberarching plot threads than most joseimuke. It also had an actual gameplay component with some rigor, a department that the joseimuke is still super underserved in.
I vastly prefer twst's characters, style, and plot, but when it comes to scope, consistency, and ambition, it just doesn't compare to enstars. As much as enstars' cast dwarfs twst's, the fact remains that you can take almost any one of its boys and they'll have had more on-screen development and spotlight over the years than even twst's most popular guys– that kind of history is what keeps fans tied down. Twst may have the vision and moments where it shines, but its content drought and lack of support production side relative to its success has really hurt it.
Enstars should probably die at this point because it's suffering from the mobage-typical issue of having overstayed its welcome, but it did decent work for years. Twst asked for far more devotional faith during spells of mediocrity.
If we're talking about slavish support towards undeserving properties though, I really have nothing to say to defend hoyoshit fans kek. They're like battered wives atp still propping up a company that expects female fans to just feed themselves while doing their marketing for them, and the fans do it gladly... I can't understand it.

There's also the fact that enstars provided both the music and basic version to fans when it relaunched. It really put in the effort to service a market in drought, and even with the greater number of joseimuke in circulation these days, I can't see anybody matching up to enstars in the many years of its prime unless somebody does an overhaul that puts even !! to shame. I guess that financially, there's LADS, but I just can't see it having a lasting cultural impact in otaku spaces the way enstars has.

I agree that Enstars during 2016-2019 had some of the best story around for an idolgame, and even for joseimuke
honestly - it wasn't afraid to go full telenova instead of generic cookie cutter idol shenanigans AND as you said give the boys heaps of character development and progressions (enough that a lot of complaints about the story today are people pissed that the new crop of writers are either forgetting/ignoring lore OR are straight up walking it back).

Release schedules have never made sense. They like keeping us on our toes, apparently.
It was three months since chapter 2, two months between 1 and 2, five months between 7.5 and 1, over five months between 7-13 and 7.5, etc.
There was only one month between 12 and 13, one month between 9 and 10, but those were both outliers. 7 usually had between two and three months per chapter.
But past precedence means nothing with Twst's main story releases and I can definitely imagine things picking up a little bit now that the tournament has actually started. For example we get the second half of this round next month, then another three month gap until the start of the next round, etc.

The whole industry is like this, it doesn't just happen to twst. I've lost count of how many times other gacha (especially hoyo) have raped the corpse of Alchemy Stars with subpar imitations of its characters. SensΩltra dropping as a NU: Carnival skinwalker also comes to mind.

Blatant imitations have always been a thing (see: Trinity Blood's unholy union of Trigun and Hellsing) but it does feel more like the norm than the exception these days. The natural product of "safely" (IMO Hoyo is the only one that actually sees success with this because they're the only ones with a massive fanbase fervent and sheltered enough not to recognize what they're doing) relying on formulas that have already shown success, downstream of a creative industry that prioritizes profit above else. It's tragic.

It's not really dispelling from what I can tell. That's what he explains to his teammate. His spell just allows him to see how it works, but it doesn't tell him how to undo it. He was only able to undo the spell in chapter 3 because it was a spell that he already knew how it worked, and his UM told him which one it was first. He has a whole monologue about how reading in the royal library is why he knows so much and can make his UM useful. Presumably a moron with that same UM wouldn't be able to do anything at all, and unless he has read up on and studied exactly how Vil's UM works, he probably won't be able to do anything about it.

This reminds me that I was watching vidrel recently. The stats here would imply that on Pixiv, at least, it was actually Scarabia fujos doing the heavy lifting, with Octa trailing behind them.
I'm always surprised by how popular JamiKali is because anecdotally I just don't feel like they have as many outspoken fans as other notable pairings. Maybe it's because they're always taken as a given, so they get a lot of steady fanwork without a lot of noise? Poor Jamil either way kek

That's more on chink yumes or chinks in general hating more muscular looking men and also otome and fujo fanbases are strictly separated in cn when it comes to games. Not even cn fujos cared about this guy because he was too "bara" for most of them.
The dog guy was just ugly as hell in general with the weird ass 4 ears and his backstory was a really bad wattpad fanfic that overlapped too much with other guys (CEO, werewolf, and a scientist). LaDs players were already mad as hell with Infold over their greedy practices and their refusal to listen and release content for the already existing boys. The dog was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Sure man, you're welcome to that opinion and I'm glad you're having a good time. Not all of us are gonna enjoy the same things but that's fine, that's a part of why Twst has been so successful across such a diverse fanbase, the people who can't put up with Kalim have plenty of other characters to latch onto and plenty of opportunity to ignore him, and the same goes in reverse for the people who like him. There's no wrong way to enjoy the dynamics. And I wish I like theirs, totally jealous, cause I'm sure it's fun. Can't force myself to like something though. I would if I could but I can't. Ah well.
