I'm going to be honest with you guys, despite liking the chapter and the new characters and the interactions between the already existing ones, I can't help but feel that _____________________________________________________________________________heh, It's my jarona!___________________________
It’s obvious Toby doesn’t know how to end the story. So many long running series have this problem. People assume someone like Toby or Oda or GRRM have the entire story outlined as soon as they sit down from the very beginning, that’s not the case at all. Usually a fan theory will roughly predict what they were originally going for and the creator has to change it so they can still surprise everyone in the end. This chapter is just Toby stalling for time. Makes literally 0 sense for nothing to happen in chapter 5. He’s hoping the minor adjustments to the plot like Asgore having character development will give him enough wiggle room to come up with a creative and interesting way to move the plot forward. Toby is probably brainstorming and panicking constantly because he needs the ball to keep rolling but he’s demoralized because an entire year passed since 3+4 and he just has no clue how to continue things.You can say I’m wrong or grasping at straws, but there is 0 reason for there to be a Kris + Susie + Ralsei wacky adventure with 0 plot development to be happening this late in the game. Something is seriously wrong here. I can tell the game will have an extremely unsatisfying and disappointing ending. If you’re a fandom tranny you can cope and just say you loved shipping the heckin valid LGBT characters and drawing fan art for the past decade but some of us actually give a shit about the overarching plot and we want the ending to be good and mind blowing

I’m very glad Asgore’s character arc was handled about as well as I wanted it to. mew mew secret boss fucking sucked in every single way. Is it weird that I liked the main antagonist Flowery and found him to be a funny and interesting character behind that generic anime man veneer, but really did not like the rest of the chapter? Felt like after everything, Asgore just chilling out so soon was pretty lame. With how he was in armored getup and was rambling about how he'd deal with the person who made teh dark fountain, you'd think there mightve been some confrontation between him and Kris. Also him totally being manhandled by the Knight was lame. Rip Flowery for trying to help, but he was a paper tiger aurafarmer.

It's a pretty classic pacing, the stakes were set up but Toby doesn't want 4 straight chapters of miseryporn so there's 1 chapter of levity. It's not even full levity, it has some sadness under it for basically every single character, Asgore got fucking kidnapped even, but it's a chapter to enjoy some fun festival scenes and good jokes so that when we look back on the full game we can see how the characters grew and enjoy them after knowing them in loneliness, excitement, happiness, despair, and triumph.

What do you guys think about the reveal that there was a dark world years ago when Dess went missing and that there was a black shard there identical to one Asgore found in the computer lab? I am inclined to think cyclical prophecy especially because Ralsei says that that's only supposed to happen when heroes also appear, but I am very biased. The only alternative explanation I can think of is that the Knight was active for a while before going dormant for some reason and Ralsei is just wrong about them only appearing when there are heroes, but that seems like an unsatisfying explanation since everything else Ralsei knows is correct. It seems more likely that he'd just have a gap in his knowledge than an outright contradiction.Does anyone have an alternative ideas about this means?
