Which ones of these do (You) recommend? if you've played any of them

>>572112225
Haven't played any of them, but I have Ghostwire Tokyo on my Wishlist and Nioh: Complete Edition in my library (I installed and played at one point for like a minute to see if it could run on my pc). I don't want to play Nioh yet until after I've finished Dark Souls Remastered. Same with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. They're all dodgeroll FromSoft-likes.
Hi-Fi Rush looks good, same with Ghostwire Tokyo. Kena: Bridge of Spirits looks interesting. But I have such a backlog of other good games to play, I'm not in a rush to really grab any of these right now.
Think the only one I would probably install right away and try is Red Dead Redemption 2, just for the experience of GTA-V-but-Wild-West for an hour or two. I watched some bodies play the first one on Xbox 360, and this one looks even more impressive. But again it falls into the same category of games I'm not in a rush to play (Still haven't really played GTA V yet either, just messed around for an hour or two). Not ready to sink a bunch of time in it right now.

But then there would be too many.
Also, I don't have two separate icons for TNT: Evilution and The Plutonia Experiment, so it needs to be one shortcut for Final Doom, and from there I can't justify a separate icon for every little expansion from the days of garbage-quality mods being sold for money.
Nuclear Winter sure is crap, but I'm still glad I still have a copy of the best Duke Nukem 3D release. (That shortcut runs the game in Raze but the assets were copied out of my copy of Megaton Edition, the native Linux build of course, which is also installed.)
Apparently all those Duke expansions are now available on ZOOM Platform now, which also remains the only digital retailer selling the original Duke Nukem 1 and 2.

Compiling shaders for Heavy Rain really clobbered my CPU. (I know some people say shader pre-caching should just be turned off these days because it's not worth it, but that breaks Valve Proton's video transcoding. Also I'm too lazy to try a game with and without pre-cached shaders to compare for myself, and for all I know, the people saying pre-cached shaders are useless might be the same ones who have machines which are more powerful than mine and now completely unaffordable.)
Good thing I bought that heatsink fan that totally wasn't necessary but has (if I'm not mistaken) never allowed my CPU temperature to reach even 50°C.
Anyway, CPU usage dropped to near-zero after the shader compiling was done because I'm actually running the game with `sleep 999 # %command%` in the launch options just to trick Steam into dropping all the trading cards while I do other stuff. Once I start playing the game for real, I don't want to have a notification about dumb cards at the end of every session.
>>
Then again I don't really believe these temperatures. I've heard that temperature sensors can be more accurate on the higher end, and maybe that's why... but there's no way that minimum of 13°C is right, even if it was measured right after I turned on the computer, because unless I'm just failing to convert from °C to °F properly, that would be colder than the room. I mean I've got my air conditioner running. But I don't think it was that cold in here, and no matter how powerful my heatsink fan is, it's not going to make the CPU colder than the air blowing through it.

Though I'm determined to remain eternally butthurt over DevilutionX removing the stippled transparency option, the very same update also added a stash that can be shared between characters, which is nice enough to keep me from using an old build for now.
One of the frustrating things about playing Diablo alone is finding shit that only another character can use. So I started three single-player games, one with each character, and I'm sharing items between them while I clear each floor with all three before moving on. The sorcerer already has a nice boost from the other two donating books they can't read instead of selling them.
It looks like my warrior can use that inferno staff, but only because he's holding a sword that gives +10 magic, so he can't really use it.

Got distracted by games that aren't desperately trying to be movies, but I still want to finish this one, and I didn't really get anywhere last time so I started over. Turns out I missed some things the first time.
I heard that choices don't really matter but I wonder how much replay value there is in just seeing different scenes/conversations etc.

He still didn't say anything useful though. I wonder if it's because I didn't go out the back door when I was controlling the suspect, or if it's just because I picked the wrong dialogue options as the cops. The game wasn't clear about whether he could have seen anything like the suspect getting in the cab or whatever.

Well, that's it for Spearhead. I wanted to give it 8/10 but middle of the expansion was pure jank, so it gets 7/10 just like the main game. Next is Breakthrough expansion I guess.
>>
I failed some QTE after the main character has a premonition of a cop knocking at the door. I had no idea what the hell was going on so I completely failed all the inputs despite the "GET READY" warning on the screen. Nothing bad happened though. I went to find a walkthrough for a hint of what would happen if I succeeded, because fuck it, I'm not playing this game enough times to see every outcome of everything, and apparently succeeding at the QTE would show another premonition of what evidence the cop might find. Pretty cool I guess.
>>
So then,
>cop shows up for real
>can't open the door from the inside without the key
What the fuck?
>>
I almost failed the timer (which probably would have been a game-over) just because I thought I'd seen the key on a table which turned out to be the wrong one, and I kept looking for it in the wrong area saying "what the fuck, it was right here". lol
>>
I let the cop in because I thought I'd done everything... but I forgot the blood all over the sheets. Oopsie.
>>
But the game let me recover from my fuck-up with another QTE (which I passed) and a dialogue choice. Told him I had a naked girl in the bedroom.
Good thing the cop didn't want to see titties.
>>
>go to the bedroom afterwards to get the sheets into the wash

So I was helping my friend set up ntsync to use on For Honor via Lutris.
For env. variable it uses 'PROTON_ENABLE_NTSYNC=1' and uses the latest stable GE Proton, with fsync and esync disabled, with EasyAntiCheat.exe loaded within the game's Wine prefix.
HOWEVER, even though this configuration boosted the game's performance, the menu screen either stutters or lags, especially within the Battle Pass screen. He is also using Flatpak but tried using the .deb package and still got similar results. Do any anons have any tips?
>>
>>572454286
and last thing I forgot to mention, only the menu screen lags, the gameplay is fine

>>
>>572454960
yeah I had him do 'sudo modprobe ntsync'
and it was indeed loaded with 'lsmod | grep ntsync' and 'lsof /dev/ntsync' showed output while the game was running
he's using 6.17 on Linux Mint
He was using CachyOS before but distro hopped to Mint. He struggled with setting up Ubisoft Connect on Mint somehow, but I blame Ubisoft more than I blame the distro.
>>
>>572455590
I only mention CachyOS mainly because the setup was easier for him there. Maybe he should try Lutris deb with ntsync? Idk

maybe try another proton version, cachyos for instance. Or even an older protonGE version. ProtonGE has some wild performance differences between versions for random games, latest is not always the best
If the game work fine and only the menu is laggy it's probably not a flatpak or deb problem

I used to play surf maps on cs 1.6, surf_ski_2 was a blast. Good times that will never come back. Never tried on CS:Source though.

Almost dropped the game because I got stuck on a boss without much ammo, this never happened in any of the previous titles, still somehow managed to beat him after an hour of trying.
I guess they want you to farm/play through normal difficulty to get those points to buy for the survival difficulty.

I have had pre-compile shaders disabled for longer than I remember and I never get stutters.
>>
>>572575713
What was wrong with it exactly?
>>
>>572581920
On 6.7 release HDR got auto applied in mpv, making my animu look better but with 6.7.1 they removed/disabled it for some reason.
I can configure it in the config file but the result is worse.
>>
>six seven
>>
>>572575713
>>572582130
Wtf do you mean "HDR was auto applied"? In Plasma, you enable HDR and in mpv you put "target-colorspace-hint" in config, that how you get HDR in mpv. That said, your animu must be made in HDR, but I suppose it wasn't. The only thing that 67 really had is broken color pipelines that were disabled in 6.7.1. If you have enabled HDR for your monitor and used in "Prefer efficiency" you were looking at broken colors.

>>
>>572588254
As I said, I did not change anything in my mpv config and the colors weren't broken but everything was brighter and nicer to look at and interestingly this only happened in full screen, otherwise it was in sdr.
I guess it was a bug in 6.7 but a good one that enhanced my viewing experience.
>>
>>572591861
>but everything was brighter and nicer to look at and interestingly this only happened in full screen
Yes, that were broken color pipelines
>I guess it was a bug in 6.7 but a good one that enhanced my viewing experience.
Just push SDR color intensity to the max, and increase SDR brightness if you liked that so much.
>>
>>572591976
>Yes, that were broken color pipelines
But in games it was the same as before 6.7.
>Just push SDR color intensity to the max, and increase SDR brightness if you liked that so much.
I tried that and it actually looked worse.
>>
>>572592421
>But in games it was the same as before 6.7.
mpv has more complex color management usage than SDR games, it might've trigged some code path that regular SDR content doesn't.
>I tried that and it actually looked worse.
idk then

It's fascinating how easy you can clone/backup partition using just dd. Wintoddlers have to resort to some proprietary bloatware for these tasks.

Yeah I hope it is. And not to expensive especially. 600 Dollars for how much raster gains? 30% more? Would that be attainable? Would make me buy it.
More than $600 is a stretch. The 9070 xt was very bad value at $700+ imo. It wasn't really worth it, especially since it can't even do path tracing on modern games.
>>
>>572659374 (me)
>30% more? Would that be attainable?
Yeah I just checked techpowerup and 30% more raster would put it close to the 4090. I would think it is possible. But then I don't think it would only cost $600, since 4090s are still expensive as fuck to this day.
Well I guess I have made up my mind. 30% more raster at $600 and I buy it

>Steam survey data posted
>Linux down from 3.99% to 3.69% in June
Down for three months in a row is a bad look, even if that three-month period started at an obviously way-too-high number. (I still think something was wrong with the March survey.)
The result for June is still higher than December but just barely.
Of course Simplified Chinese also increased but I haven't computed the English-only Linux percentage myself and GamingOnLinux hasn't posted it either.
>>
>>572670412
>English-only Linux
I think the same math used by GamingOnLinux (3.99% Linux * 82.88% Linux-only English / 39.48% English = 8.38% for May) would result in (3.69 * 82.42 / 38.18 =) 7.97% for June.

Finished Resident Evil Revelations 2, it's almost double the length of the first one but not as fun, I wanted to play more of the Raid mode but game kept crashing just after a few missions, gold rating, my ass.
As of now Resident Evil 6, Revelations 1&2 are the only titles in the RE series that crashed, even 5, which uses the same engine, suffered no crashes.

Before continuing with 7 I'll play this one first(Mandragora) which I got for 16 dollars on GMG.
