Uma musume only gets progressively more p2w as time passes. Majority of the in game mechanics are hidden too so you have to actually do tons of research on each Real life course's layout on course elevations, distance timings and turns. It's also mandatory to research meta as well cause lots of skills depend on current placement timings and have optimal timings. How well your union/circle does is based of how much you grind the game every month. And at the end of every month, your tens of hours (hundrends for serious players) of runs become instantly useless.And there's huge amounts of luck involved in opponents, you could match up with super whales or people who barely made it by or one of your shitty opponents could use an off meta team and instantly kill your team allowing the third team to take an easy win. And you do all of this for what is essentially a T3 frame. Also showing off the frame is essentially even more pointless because friends lists basically just exist for rentals so you are constantly deleting all your friends to find better rentals for inheritances/ niche support cards. It just feels like the opposite of what would be acceptable mechanics in the west. The only reasoning I can come to on why EN people love this game so much is just people using toxic positivity in the community to trick people into band wagoning.
