You can't really run past bots unless you're assassin cause that makes noise too, making you just as easy to track.I could have just let them die and waited for final exfil but I didn't want to put up with 20 minutes of waiting in a corner. Idk just lame that you can essentially be held hostage by your team in the fucking end game content because both of them just decide to do something that's objectively stupid from the get go. Like there's bad calls sure, but trying to push a team we know have shotguns when we know while we're trying to recover we're very liable to get pushed and rushed by another team that also has shotguns not even 50m away is just dumb on every level.

Some guys chilling on top of Algae pools are a pain in the ass to push and same goes for a lot of situations, so you usually want to even the field by fucking off elsewhere and catch other teams at exfils mostly due to them being more favourable and giving you a chance to extract in the case you get a better chance. In Cryo it's even more important when things are funneled or you might get caught out of sequence a lot of times. Some people just think aggression is the only thing that's rewarded, but just being a lot smarter on every facet of an engagement improves the odds. Just taking a fight every time you hear teams is a death sentence with extremely high chances you'll get booted into the lobby.

I can understand in cases the distance is close and have a decent chance of forcing the engagement, but most of the time it's just way too risky to do it in the case you don't know the rest of the map state. It gets even muddier when you consider teams having been eliminated early in two or three-way shootouts and then their bodies rot in a corner of a map where you haven't even peeked around yet. So in maps that aren't Cryo or Outpost you're always working in a crapshoot environment, which further encourages two different behaviours:>Hunting and PoI rotation.>Disengaging and PoI rotation. In most cases, everyone prefers the former because it's what every cool kid does. The issue had never been the other IP that was being pushed out the door. It had been a game where the majority of the playerbase sure love to fucking run their mouth how much they love Destiny, but ultimately the business wasn't sustainable for a game that had bloated to the point Destiny 2 had gone to. The final nail was already put forth well before Lightfall and Final Shape, solely on the doorstep of both having a ridiculously troubled development.

Instead we got a BR Sidearm that dominates the vast majority of the meta at a price point of 400 creds and a completely borked seasonal progression.
Personally I blame Bungie Leadership for yet again doing an 11th hour pivot causing development to grind to a screeching halt as suddenly everyone has to throw out pretty much everything they worked on to accommodate the New Vision™. What is the draw to playing rook? I almost never ever ROOK. I play mostly solo. I don't see a reason to ROOK because it turns off reputation gains. So if you die as ROOK you quite literally get nothing. But I guess you also lose nothing too. I can always hobble together a green kit though. So I don't see a reason to never just be a real shell.

The hardest part of playing sentinel specifically is having such shit agility cause you usually need implants to make some important jumps to get onto roofs or to take shortcuts at the start of a run (Dire Marsh quarantine/maintenance spawns are a good example, since with low agility you can't hop the high fences which means wasting time and exposing yourself to people more clearly). There's been lots of times I've lost a gunfight because someone will be on a rooftop and I've forgotten to take agility implants or shield swapped and the agility debuff means I can't get the flank on them and need to approach in a predictable way that lets them absolutely nuke me. Fall resistance is more so a luxury that you invest in just to save you money since you're not having to constantly waste meds to top up from scratching your knees, but if you're hoarding depleted meds you can probs just get by with that, so maybe not "important" but just really nice and I prefer it any day over having high hardware/firewall>As for the energy amps, I bring 1 because I get them free from sekuguchi and was never really using themWould genuinely recommend you just hold onto them then instead of taking them in your green kits. Might seem silly now, but you'll get exponentially more out of them when your tac recovery is maxxed as Sentinel since you can throw out a trap every 30 seconds, and that can be game changing in maps like Outpost or Cryo. I am unfamiliar with Marathon lore. I was reading a tad about those Battledroid guys. Just how strong are they and compared to a Shell, how strong are they? They made it sound like the battledroids are basically just Master Chief but on even more steroids.

Runners, and by extensions our shells, are powerful, but Battleroids are basically better in almost every feasible way since they have access to the same capabilities (theoritically infinite amount of lives with buffer stations + upgradable body) but the key difference is battleroids aren't based on degradable synth-skin and instead are a literally just undead hooked up to cybernetics. Shells are designed with the idea that we break down and decompose, but Battleroids require a literal army to put them down since they can just keep going and going. How much do numbers really matter? I was thinking about this recently. It seems like most games outside of the major heavy hitters have anywhere between 10-40k people. CS2 and DOTA and shit like that have many players but I think a lot of that is sunk cost and shit. Some people have been playing CS for so long that they don't know anything else. I come from playing Quake Champions, a game people said died long ago but I can still get games in it. So what really is "dead"?

We're in a weird position where it's not clear what bungie should be working on now or what the live service strategy should be. FTP is a possibility too, but that interferes with Fairgames. What is it about any other extraction shooter that people like? I personally liked tarkov for what it is I guess but I hate mil sim shit. Tarkov definitely leans very heavily into the mil sim aspects and I hated that. Like a million ways to position your characters body, crawling, sitting, leaning, peaking etc. But yet, I get a "blacked out" head and live?
