>>572001763Difficulty in Pathfinder is entirely reliant on knowledge checks. An enemy uses level drain? Cast Death Ward. An enemy uses Poison? Cast Delay poison. An enemy uses dominate? Cast Protection from Alignment or Unbreakable Heart, etc. It's much harder to get into than something like BG3 or Rogue Trader because it uses a DnD 3.5 system which is very number crunchy. That said on Normal difficulty which is what I recommend you play at it's still fairly manageable.

No one cares because the Denerim Alienage has to remain intact for the later sequences to occur. I think I just had an epiphany as to why Durge is the chosen of Bhaal rather than Orin who genuinely revel in it; its because of its genuine spontaneity. As in, while Orin revel in the act of wanton slaughter which do on a surface level follow his will, the durge outright instinctual need to do it is far closer in spirit to the nature of the god, even if it done without the concious intent to do so, as what type of murder is most fitting as a sacrifice to the god of murder than one done with pure blinding passion as a manifestation of oneself true desires? Bhaal basically look at durge like it was a fine piece of art, a true avatar of wanton murder, while Orin in comparison is a facsimile groomed into the role. Its like comparing the taste of an orange with a synthetic equivalent, no matter how faithful it is to the original, it simply isn't the same thing at a fundamental level and will not interact with the universe in the same way.

Okay despite all the YDS posting I did her "romance" though Toybox to have Kibbles as my actual romance. It's mid. Some nice words at the end doesn't really make up for the amount of shit you have to deal with her. Also despite everything she still refuses to touch you. Don't know why Owlcat was so insistent on this aspect of her but it just made the whole thing feel fake. Long story short, this is the last time I'll ever put up with her. Alright, I did it.It cost me half of my party, and that was even though they were all doping on potions and I cheesed it a bit by moving around the room to kill his minions before him, and STILL the bastard took Jaheira, Khalid and Viconia down with him.The game was fun. It definetly didn't age gracefully, with the companions being not really a thing outside of combat (except for annoyingly timed simple quests), the reputation system being poor for morality and alignment, half the spells being useless, sneaking being unviable, and a tons of other issues. Still the main quest was ok and the game had a ton of fun side quests, plenty of charm to them. Very good OST, holy soul in that department.The combat was... swingy. Sometimes you won, sometimes you lost, it really often came down to who cast the first CC spell or shit like that. It also had weird difficulty spikes, you could go half a dungeon oneshotting everything and then find an enemy that simply party wipes you out of nowhere. But it was fun, it felt that by approaching the same encounter differently I could swing the scales in my favor, the issue that came with it is that it was a lot of savescumming and trying and trying again.The city of Baldur's Gate was great. Very big and full of shit to do, I just wish it didn't come so late into the story.Now, what's next? I know the game has some DLCs but the timeline is not clear to me.
