It is now time to announce the format and schedule of the /forza/ Touge Tournament!The event will be held across 4 rounds and each head to head match will be a best of 5 races (first to 3 victories). The schedule for the rounds is in the attached image and the opening round will begin on Monday June 29 at 7:00 GMT, going for a period of 6 days.The matches will be carried out like this: Ensure you have your opponent added as a friend and organize your match through Xbox Chat (or d*scord if you choose). I will assist with this if needed. Once you’re both ready you will convoy up, fast travel to the track, and start a "PvP" race. Select the car chosen for that round with the appropriate setup applied. The tracks will be raced in this order:1) Bandai Azuma2) Arashiyama Takao3) Mt. Haruna4) Norikura Skyline (if needed)5) Hakone Nanamagari (if needed)For results to be considered valid, you MUST screenshot each end of race screen showing the track and cars used with the final times and submit those to me. This is 100% mandatory and results will not be validated without those screenshots. Recording the race is not required but highly encouraged as anons would love to watch the competition. Streaming is even better!The car for round 1 will be the 1998 BMW M3. Please download setup 113 590 653 (B 535) and apply it for your match. >>571593478I also have to add an explanation for track conditions. Two of the tracks default to wet races and there is no way around this. Those are Arashiyama Takao and Hakone Nanamagari. On top of that, it is impossible to practice in those conditions as a solo player because the races are limited to the festival event class and cannot be modified. In rivals the track will be dry. So the only way to practice these tracks in wet conditions is to convoy with someone and race using the PvP option so you're able to select cars from other classes.

The game needs a lot more customization options for cars, garages and characters, what is there is not enough, character models are just bad, they need to overhaul them and redo everything from scratch, cutscene quality is bad, billboards and ads in city and races are too little and too boring, Tokyo is underwhelming, undetailed and not big enough, traffic is also not high enough, it feels like a ghost town in Tokyo, car meetings are a wasted potential, it is all just so mediocre. The game has too many flaws for me to overlook, I just don't like it as much, but I wish I did. I don't believe any of these complaints will ever be addressed in the future patches or what not. I wish PGG would turn this game into a live service and upgrade it significantly, like devs from No Man Sky did with their game, that would be something great.

>>572334798Touge tuning is just weird, Hakone is the most obvious example but race transmission, brakes, and overly grippy tires are all a lot more valuable there. The fact you're mentioning tire spin also means you're probably not on AWD which is way better and most viable RWD tunes will overload on power which is optimal for most tracks but not touge which is fairly handling focused.

Should I run my gears more towards accel? Everyone says that in online top speed is king due to sprints or whatever, but even on sprint tracks, everyone instantly zooms off the line like a time attack car and top speed doesn't really seem to come into play as even on the longest of flat out sections, cars don't seem to exceed 305 km/h at most in S1 before they have to lift off or fan-brake. I'm also not running max downforce or anything that would slow my speed down drastically so, gearing is the only thing that comes to mind for me to adjust.

If you find 305 is the sweet spot just tune around that, but I'd probably test it on something like Highway Circuit or Sunflower Charge. For launches short gears will give you too much wheelspin unless you're using an AWD (and AWD swapped WTACs are pretty common). You can fix this by lengthening first but that requires a race transmission which might not be worth it. The stock ratios also matter, some cars have pretty short natural gears. The GR Supra is an example where 2nd and 3rd are both insanely short so trying to run a lower final drive ratio causes those gears to be unusable. You usually also need to ignore overdrive gears which skew the listed top speed. It's also not really important for cars with a pretty wide powerband, but that's more common at lower classes. So unless you're making a rivals setup for one specific track, any ratio where your up shifts are at a good RPM works well enough.

If you look at the graph on the right side of the tuning menu, each line corresponds to a gear and short/long literally refers to the length of the line. An overdrive gear is a long last gear, used in the real world for fuel efficiency. They're extremely long relative to the other gears and it means when you shift into it your RPMs will always be too low and outside the powerband. The GR86 has one if you want an example.
