The game is only "dying" because live service demands growth of players, not box product sales. Would you call any game prior to the mass adoption of live service dying or dead? Probably not. Destiny will be fine because it just exists as is.Given enough time, sure, "dead" means no players and servers get pulled, but that's the nature of games you don't own.Until D1, D2 (pre beyond light), or D2 (as is) gets server emulation, the only fear is not being able to play for a gap between now and then.

Sony was definitely about to obliterate their anuses if they didn't release it before their final deadline being March this year. Bungie left Microsoft because they wanted them to continue doing Halo, then they left Activision because Activision was not only unimpressed by Destiny 2's performance with Forsaken but also because Activision wanted a new Destiny game every 2 years like Call of Duty. Around 2022 when Bungie realised they were fucked after ballooning in size needed to sell themselves on a lie and Sony were retarded enough to fall for it. Now we are here with Bungie in likely their final moments and its not due to Destiny failing their unrealistic goals, its due to the money being wasted on ephemeral projects that went no-where to inflate value of their company.
