Chronicles isn't on PS4 but it isn't exactly hard to get it on PC. The biggest loss for Falcom games from the store closing is going to be the PSP version of Brandish. It's not on the PC at all. The PSP versions of FC and SC are both Zane games as well. Though Brandish might be lost already. The Vita store has been falling apart for years, and when I checked the store on the Vita I couldn't find it anyway. Could still be on the PS TV store though, there's differences.

Translation is literal MTL that stopped being checked for quality after the prologue and opening chapter.
It is still a very fun game.
I like the original’s translation by Xseed more, I think the portraits added a lot of soul, but details like Estelle’s comments when completing sidequests, cooking animations, and the shopkeeps greeting Estelle and Joshua by name in Rolent is a nice touch.
I think the gameplay is an improvement. Maybe a little too easy until you do NG+ on Nightmare, which is actually really hard.
Have not seen anything definitive on this, but seems like STR > ATS in the remake.

Gungho's MTL replaced a bunch of established series terms like Archaisms and whatnot so if you already played the other games that gets annoying very quickly. Aside from that though the only retcon I can think of is that they put a character from Calvard far off into the background of one of the flashback images. They didn't really seem interesting in tying much of the future lore into FC. Most of Sky's lore is revealed in 2nd though so we'll see if they change anything there.

Well they had the first day of the festival and changed a few things up with that. One thing I really liked in that was that it wasn't just Elise calling classmates over for the attractions but others doing the same for her, with reference to other members of Class VII hanging out either together or with friends too. Fie called Elise over to Stella Garten for a serious talk while Machias called her over to Gate of Avalon to genuinely just hang out and have fun together as friends, for example. Even had a moment of Patrick trying to ask Elise to the dance the following day, only to get turned down (like Beryl suggested he would when he went to her for a fortune).

They also did the final Old Schoolhouse trials and Loa Erebonius fight, that was much more action-focused but was really nicely done. Plus it was nice to finally see her confirmed as Valimar's Awakener in this, though with the sorta caveat that Alisa was actually the runner-up.

all i am saying is that estelle and joshua are heroes and earned that title and earned the praise that comes with that

van is a more complicated case since technically his main motivation for 2 games is fulfilling agnes’ request and that is also the case in kai, but with more of a focus on finding out what the space program aims to do. his achievements do feel more coincidental to his quest, but i also do think he deserves the praise of killing the guy deranged enough to use nukes against his own country and countrymen, but in universe it would make sense for him to wanna keep a low profile
then again, agnes does have to use renne’s TOR knockoff to contact him when everyone else leaves post it notes behind bulletin boards for him lmao

Liberl's guild just simply has higher standards compared to other countries' guilds which is why Estelle/Joshua are still at B-rank. The standard for A-rank is much higher. Compare this to the Calvard guild's loose standards that promote someone like Elaine to A-rank just for political purposes to 1-up Erebonia, or worse give a straight up fraud like Zin the S-rank consideration. The same "S-rank" candidate that disgracefully jobbed to a bunch of mobs LMAO. If Estelle and Joshua were Calvardian they would've been made A-rank before Cold Steel was over
