I dress all my base-game characters in the rags + beta cuck helmet and use no portraits or additional cosmetics of any kind.

The best way is to spend dockets at brunt's to get a gray with the dumpstat you want and then spending mats to upgrade it at Hadron.
It's also the most expensive way if you're new and poor.

Look at restocks to pick up a weapon with good stat distribution (usually something like 80 in everything except 60 in Mobility or whatever the most useless stat is at that specific weapon, Google it) and upgrade it until it's good.
Alternatively just burn money and buy gray guns until you get one that has it and upgrade it.
Random rolls are very, very rarely good but until you have a weapon you crafted yourself just use whatever highest level weapon you happen to drop.

I am the action economy anon and the jist of it is everything the skull can do for you frees not only you but your team up to do other things. It just lets you do more in the same amount of time as another class. I'm not arguing that makes it "good" or not, but as I see it that's the unique benefit a skitarii brings to a team. For example, every time your nooskull kills a sniper while you're bashing a crusher's skull in, that's action economy. You didn't have to waste time dealing with it, and none of your teammates did either. Same applies to skull revivals, minigame hacking, etc. Do you *need* them? No, of course not, you're a big strong gamer. But everyone on your team will be safer and more effective if they don't have to focus their attention on it. On top of that, the now-fixed Voltaic Emitter takes action away from the enemies in a huge radius, which plays into the theme.

Finesse finesse finesse. You want to stack crit, finesse, weakspot multiplier, etc. all of the finesse related stats. It loves stamina because the push attack has obscene single target damage. You must build around it for it to be effective, else it's just a run + bleed stick with good mutant poke.

To an extent, but I think you're looking at it from a macro perspective; over time APM compounds into a huge snowballing effect in turn based games, yes. But moment-to-moment matters too, because every extra action may mean killing something very important that could start a death spiral. Every moment of combat, you are taking your "turn" by doing something, it's just that enemies resolve their "turns" simultaneously and the outcome results from the two decisions colliding, rather than going back and forth.
But again, I didn't even say it was important, it's just my read on the skit's unique identity in a team.

Get assail and take all the supporting nodes. It rapes low difficulty enemies.
You get access to voidblast staff at level 5. Get one, use the leftclick, it is your best attack. The blast is good but do not obsess over it, just leftclicking things dead is often better. Shock staff at 8 is the best at leftclicking.
You get access to the greatsword at level 9. It is the best melee available to the class, and the horizontal light attacking one is the easiest to use for horde clear, especially if your staff is built for single target. I suggest putting flak and infested on it. Infested is not optimal, but it does provide the best and easiest horde clear especially when farted-on poxers take twice as much effort to kill.

Most of the above stops mattering as much once you're high enough level. Don't take this as gospel on how psyker is supposed to play in the higher levels, or higher difficulties. It's just supposed to make leveling easiest for you. Yes, you have my permission to run +1 wound if you frequently fuck up and blow yourself up.

I think that the people that giga-hype the phosphor pistol are the ones that place extraordinary emphasis on the Mans-stopper blessing granting infinite cleave on crit. So it's basically a revolver that can punch through a horde like the plasma gun to hit that special way behind 30 bodies.

I'm very fond of noosphere alongside voltaic emitter. Personally I don't give a fuck about the level 3 discharges. I just care about the defensive utility of stunning a dense melee threat nearby, or disabling ranged opponents with the level 2 charge. Noosphere grants me a trivial way to ensure that I'm not at 3 stacks when I discharge voltaic emitter. So instead of starting from square 1 to replenish all of my voltaic charges, I instead start at something like ~70-80% of a charge. So the time needed to prepare myself for my next level 1 or 2 discharge is pretty drastically reduced.

Man, I wish the heavy variants of ranged weapons were more worth using for most of the guns (barring a few exceptions)
The heavier lasguns. Infantry, pistol and recon all feel so dogshit compared to their lighter and more rapid fire counterparts, most of them being more ammo efficient as well on top of being higher dps. Anytime I think to myself "maybe the harder hitting mark would be really good for a critmaxxed finesse build," and testing it out in practice and it just falls short of damage.

Phosphor pistol also has Infernus. If you can handle hi-intensity damnation you can handle upto havoc 20-25 easily enough. Above that teamwork, builds for convenience, and everyone knowing where to stand and when to move starts mattering, plus the increasing restrictions on ammo pickups.
Also you have to know how to survive while meleeing a monster to death, because there will be times where you are on your own while the team deals with the giant pile of chaos that may include multiple other monsters.

Negative crit chance just means if your character has 5% crit chance normally, equipping a weapon with -2% crit chance, means your over all crit chance is 3%.

Also here's some more cursed knowledge.
Ogryn has the lowest crit chance in the game, at 2.5%, which isn't that surprising. Ogryns are characterized as mostly being "smash enemy hard until they die" type of characters, not super finesse.

But then you realize that many if not most ogryn weapons have negative crit chance values tied to them.
For example, bully clubs and twin stubbers have -3% crit chance each last I checked. And on top he has the worst crit damage modifiers in the game as well. Even now after the 2025 rework/buffs.

Not that much. Gameplay is vastly different.
SM2 is more generic 3rd person hack and slash and includes the parry mechanic and gun strikes and then glory kills to restore your armor.
There's some nuance to it but it's not super complex.

Darktide's combat is 1st person but at the same time it is much more in-depth.
Like Darktide has stagger and cleave mechanics tied to melee which are very important. Also things like dodges and pushes exist.
Pushing being very important because it prevents you from being overwhelmed and surrounded in melee and it exists to create space.

NTA but Executions aren't really QTE's. You just press E on a wounded enemy and it does it for you, it's basically picking up health packs. If there were additional inputs you needed to make while doing it then yeah sure, but it's not even a QTE, it's less than a QTE.

If Darktide suddenly added a big red circle on a Crusher's overhead, would it become a QTE? Because that's it, that's the only difference between the two, SM2 gives you a bit more visual clarity.

I have tried that. I ran double crit blessings with Redline and a lot of the electrocution stuff up top, and I did it that way for a while, but I dislike it. You're still at RNG's mercy, not like the RNG would be too bad with Shred+Riposte, but it's still present. 50% crit isn't really enough for me to justify spending talents on the stacking brittleness or the bonus damage to electrocuted targets since both of those require at least 1 hit of setup to apply electrocution in the first place, and not every first hit with them is a guaranteed crit. If the crit multipliers were higher, I'd be on board building for more crit, but for only several hundred extra damage on crit, I just want the consistency of flat damage.

Can you? The way I have my Redline build set up, it only misses Retribution Conduit and Hybrid Combat Covenant (and the really shitty version of Duelist, but that node kinda sucks anyway). You'd have to abuse noosphere with Galvanic Marking Array to get close, I imagine (which is fair, at least until they nerf it, though for my own purposes, I'm not fond of marking shit for the skull/dog nor am I fond of abusing stuff like that). Oh, and there's the 20% flat damage from Flensing; I almost forgot. I suppose with all that I could see it getting close, but strength stacks multiplicatively with regular damage bonuses, so I'm curious how it'd actually math out. I kinda wanna give it a try now that you mention it.

My personal bet is chirurgen. Possibly a Sister Hospitaler version. Minor synergy with Dark Heresy, pre-existing models, codex history with the Witch Hunters/Inquisition, and narratively fits in with Darktide. Sisters are a brand faction, which probably gets more weight after the success of skitarii.

Eldar are also a contender. Strong faction identity for sales. Three upcoming 40k games with Eldar present for synergy. Recently released Eldar models from GW.

Laziest possibility, Servitor. Pairs with skitarii. Pre-existing servitor cosmetics to slap on the player.

Also, this game has two xenos in it we can have on our team. And being that Fatshark likes to drop classes or story beats along with other Warhammer games we might be getting something soon. Especially with some of the background lore choices we could get as Skitarii.
If I recall there's three specific backgrounds that mention Xenos, one is, I assume, referring to Tyranids and Genestealers, then there's two more, one referring to Xenos inside a mining planet/hive and another where the Skitarii are investigating reports of Xenos "warping" or something.

Going by the Mortis Trial stories which are a year old now and Fatshark I don't think has ever added to it; one shows Ruffis or whatever the fuck his name is asking a Servitor what to do and they say the entire planet needs to be purged. Now with it being we haven't caught Wulfer yet and shit is barreling out of control we could be at the point of no return where we have to "begrudgingly" ask a Xeno Race to help us.

As much as I know /coopg/ and 4chan hate to discuss this but I could diffidently see them doing a female-only class to balance out Ogryn; be it as a Eldar Xenos, an Abhuman Beastmen, or the easiest option, due to this being a Swedish Game Dev and them hating any work or effort, a Sister of some sort.
I truly think we will be getting Genestealers at some point as a enemy faction to fight against though. We had wanted-esq posters for them hanging around some of the city maps for Closed Beta (now removed), we still have their vehicle stationed in one of the maps (a old human mining vehicle modified for warfare), we have a number of classes background lore to choose from and class dialogue between allies in-game and the most recent addition was the battleplans we can grab from No Man's Land mission as an objective.

Never happening because of all the work they'd have to put in for something people would want them to release for free, even at a modest price as an expansion type deal, they wouldn't cover the development cost of making an entire new set of models, textures, rigs, animations, weapons, sound design, dialogue and maps. Some things they could reuse, but a new faction is almost an entire new game in terms of man hours, if Darktide were popular it could happen, but it isn't.

Most cultists have at least one extra arm which means an entirely new animation rig with animations to match, models too, they also tend to make mock tyranid bioforms, dog/mutant/ogryn/monstrosity equivalents would be these. There's no easy way out that GW would ever green light.

No, the biggest hurdle is that they lost the employees with the technical skill to make something like this in a timely manner. They could make this given time and budget, but they would never, ever recoup the cost even if they sold it given how long it would take. From a strictly business sense, it's just not feasible. Darktide would have to have an active playerbase an order of magnitude greater than it managed to get with skitarii release for them to even consider taking the risk.

It is called the Fanatics Hood and the preview image I found doesn't give it justice. You know how Gene Stealers have that slanted skull and the longer you've been one the worse it deforms?

I have a big annoyance with the galvanic rifle
Its loaded with clips but the clip is never ejected/removed, its shoved in there alongside the bullets into the endless void. Also ends up throwing me off a bit whenever I reload with ammo still remaining.
And all that annoys me since all other reload animations have the magazine removed.

It has good cleave and good dps, you can clear or soften up hordes with it on demand. It can also quickly raise your peril, it saves you ammo, and triggers on warp kill talents.
It's very handy in gunpsyker builds, not so much in anything else.

Less killy than hive scum. Less tanky and crowd controlly than arbites. Has two playstyles, one is basically just a revolver zealot who isn't bringing beacon and isn't as tough, the other is an arbites who can't stun everything as often but has more DPS I suppose, and also isn't as tough.
He's weird. I want the transonics and power sword buffed. Chordclaw needs to have infinite cleave by default. The range on weapon malfunction on voltaic and shock nades needs to go up. Some of the "on ranged kill" nodes need trigger fixes and easier triggers or stacks decaying one at a time instead of all at once because they have like 0 consistency on staying up compared to the rest of skit's stacking nodes the class seems to be obsessed with.
Servo skull can't shoot through psyker bubble.
Combat doctrines has hitreg on perpendicular moving targets.
Overall a very selfish class to bring to havoc without the payoff that other selfish options offer, like rampage hive scum or chastise/stealth zealot.

All the melee weapons seem to be balanced around you picking every single damage talent and having them active at all times so they are very undertuned, they are clunky, the special activations are slow and unresponse and mostly unsatisfying to use. Killing enemies with arcs is very unsatisfying and makes it feel like you never got to do anything even if you end the mission with over a million damage done

The servo skull can give you almost perfect uptime on a +20% TDR talent, a +10% Damage, a +20% damage and a +15% damage talent while itself doing more damage than most players, so you would never ever want to replace it the other mediocre blitzes

The arc maul never has enough uptime to feel good and it doesn't feel anywhere near as good to use as the mk3 bully club despite having the same light attacks

The transonic blades' mode switch is a very inconvenient gimmick that breaks the flow of combat by placing an unreliable and slow animation between your horde clears and your heavy single target attacks, and whereas power swords make crackling and wooshing noises, the transonic blades are completely devoid of any satisfying impact sounds

The new powersword is incredibly weak without all the damage talents and it's very unpleasant to use as a dedicated melee weapon because of its slow running speed and lack of dodges, but at least it has an actual usable special and the ability to quickly and reliably transition between horde clearing and single target attacks

The galvanic rifle just needs more ammo
The phosphor pistol is good
The arc rifle is good but unsatisfying to use

I've had a look into the code for it before. There are lag compensation mechanics for bursters, just like dogs. The lag comp makes it so that your push gets very very high range if the special is targeting you. You can tell this works on dogs because when a dog is trying to jump you you can force push it with your mind, and otherwise barely at all. Same is true for bursters.

So when some retard gets targeted by a burster and walks back into the team, nobody else can push the thing properly because the lag comp barely works.

What you would do BEFORE this patch is just run up super close to it and push spam it so it at least drops on the floor safe, you fuck off and the situation resets.
What happens NOW is that you have no counterplay. Retard kites it in? Someone's taking a hit from the burst
