its probably fine. i used it a year ago on an m1 laptop and given that its a completely undocumented platform, some things dont work great. video decoding is one of them, so i dunno how reliable they will be for a server usecase, granted there are alot less features on a desktop version. for me, i just want hardware that works. if your concern is power efficiency, ive run one of these micro pcs for a year now, and it only sucks up between 5-8w. bretty good for server usecases.

I’m looking at the specs now, seems like I’m spending at least 650USD for an x86 machine with similar specs to an M1, which again I believe to be similar to the specs of the server I was using. As in, Geekbench single score of 2400, like the i7 12700T in some HP Mini machines. While the M1 may well sell for less than 500USD, which I think is worth bidding up from $350 if nothing else. Single core geekbench scores in the 1200-1500 range are plentiful, but I’m just not sure if that’s sufficient considering how the server was running.

> I paid for 3 months and would be shocked to see it last any longer than that lol.
That's perfect. There's a lot to say for stopping on a high, leaving the players wanting for more, instead of a slow and drawn out decline.
> As I said before this is using Packwiz so as long as any Aero updates don't break saves then I can push an update to everyone's packs automatically without any action needed on the player's ends.
True but obviously you're not going to want to add in anything submarine or space themed or whatever. There's so many new addons coming out it's crazy. Some of them will require new ores being generated, that kind of stuff.

3 months is sufficient time to get that Big Cannons foundry up and running and blow some Sengoku castles to kingdom come. Awesome. I'll see you on the serb when the internet starts working in my new house, I also just moved

TENKU SENGOKU UPDATES 7/3:
- Unified the duplicate Jade types
- Fixed the broken command-based quest rewards
- Added Effortless Building, Polymorph, S-J Armor Patch, Lootr, Chloride, Controlling, and Trash Cans
- Disabled Jiangshi natural spawns (shit mob)
- Disabled AgriCraft farming overriding vanilla
- Fixed the custom skills not showing up
- Made Create LowHeated burners work as fueled Blaze burners when fueled. Blowing a max-speed fan through them makes them superheated.

Will this even work retroactively? IIRC they add their own chests/barrels that replace the ones spawned in structures.

Any of you use Troonix? I want to escape from Windoze, but since I play 1.7.10 I am worried down the line if the world collectively decides that Java 8 is deprecated and I can't install it anymore. I know it has like 4-5 years of support left from Amazon, but is still Worth considering.

lwjgl3ify solves this for toymy and modern 1.7.10 packs but also it's incredibly unlikely that everyone collectively stops packaging java8 in any form for at least another decade (and even if they did, you can build it yourself, though that's a lot less practical if you're not experienced with programming/sysadmin)

There's been a trend recently of fake horror mods where they pretend to be playing a mod, only for it to be a png edited into the video. I'm pretty sure that second and third videos are examples. It's baffling.

It's here. New modded youtube series on a custom map. VS2 and Scorched guns based which will be quite interesting. I know a few of the things that are coming and there's definitely a bit of life left in VS, some things which I have not seen in Aero including a (actual spoiler) full-on working mech. Skip to 11:20 to avoid the larp.
I will not post about this further and have no desire for eceleb talk itt. However the custom map is very high effort which makes it worth a watch. Very flat too which is nice for cars, though every 1-block height difference still causes the screen to shake which is annoying. The suspensions in Trackwork are quite good, probably better than Aero still, but I wish these mods did some smoothing so that the edge of a block isn't such a steep drop every time.

Your material throughput needs to increase in general (put in more cobble, use crushing wheels to process it), and you need to stop using andesite funnels as output. They limit you to 1 item out at a time, although they can receive arbitrarily many items

So which of the various pokemon modpacks is the best one? I don't even know the difference between Pixelmon and Cobblemon, I just see that stuff like Cobbleverse, Pixelmon Modpack, and All the Mons are most popular without really being able to tell if I should play one of those or something else.
>>
>>572884963
pixelmon is models ported directly in and cobblemon look like they actually belong in minecraft, differences beyond that are minor, but cobblemon has a lot more mod supports and modpacks built around it
all of it is shit, and unless you join a server there's very little to actually "do" with the pokemon in either direction

If you don't mind it looking a bit ugly you can just drop the gravel straight on the ground. Funnels will drop another gravel once the last one it dropped is out of the way, washing will both process the gravel and move along. To sort it you can just insert it into whatever storage you have access to that can restrict it's slots, a Toolbox if you don't have access to a Drawer, a funnel will work with either.

What'll really bake your noodle:
Where did they learn it from?
LLMs are text predictors. So where in the history of modern english do you find 'professional' long-form descriptions of content where every sentence is followed by a color emoji that modern technology could only render within the last 5 years?
They're certainly not copying specifically mod descriptions. They shouldn't be using emojis at all, because in the overwhelming corpus of language - let alone the english language in specific - emojis are such a miniscule fraction of use that there weight for there being nothing over being an emoji should equal that of the mass of the sun.
So where did they learn it from?

TENKU SENGOKU UPDATES 7/5:
- Removed Voxy Auto LOD due to terrible server-side impacts. I'll replace this entirely with Distant Horizons likely next weekend. Players can continue to use Voxy clientside, but I'd recommend disabling it if you're experiencing any performance issues.
- Added Create Deco Generators, More Overlays Updated, and TeamsOffliner (allows FTBTeams to be used in offline mode as the mod creator is anti-pirate lol)
- Added a crafting recipe for froglights as I'm not sure if frogs spawn in this pack.

Alright weird Create question but I'm working on a machine that will automatically make TFC dirt and part of the recipe requires clay and clay can be made from mud and mud needs dirt so you see the recursive loop to make dirt I need dirt well my first attempt instead of the millstone (circled in green) I used crusher wheels but despite the wheels having the exact same 50% chance to get a clay ball from mud the machine would always eventually end up stalling from running out of clay but when I swapped it for a mill with the same 50% the machine hasn't ever ran out. Anyone know why the crushing wheels failed me here?
>>
>>573053071
Post chain network pls. I never really bothered to learn this shit but recently saw some setups that were quite tempting. Like auto filtering smeltable ores and pulling them to a blasting fan, and factory gauge to always keep a couple stacks of each plate in the system. However I still need more convincing since it really is a bit of a faff to learn.
With Aero you can just put your main storage on a physics object and take it with you to a project site which is great. That was a big objection for me, although maybe it was always possible with minecarts idk.

Do you think chain conveyors could link between the real world and aero ships? Now that would be fucking sick, just fly your mining ship in, hook up the chain and watch the wave of packages stream into the base.
>>
>>573057090
ended up retrying the experiment and the crushers started working again.
Weird I guess I just got really unlucky with my coinflips and never got the critical mass of dirt to self sustain it early on
>>
>>573057090
Cobble->gravel->sand->clay is normally my route for clay balls, might be more work but once it backs up the intermediate materials are also useful.
>>
>>573060624
sadly not an option in my pack, but nevermind I was just being very unlucky with my coinflips when jump starting the machine with a half stack of clay
>>
>>573060386
I'm not at my PC right now, but the stock network is super versatile, and it's pretty trivial to add things in which is nice.
In regards to ships, there's an Aero equivalent to the Portable Storage Interface that will let you pull things out with filtered chutes/funnels as you're describing, then you just route them with Factory Gauges/Frogports as needed
>>
>>573060974
Yeah the docking connector. It's pretty good, snaps into place quite satisfying, not too onerous to line up unless you have a very large ship. However I think maybe I have seen chain connections direct from the ground to a ship, or maybe it was power cables from one of the power mods, can't quite remember.
>>
>>573062414
What would the use case be, really? Presuming it did work, what would you gain from such a system?
>>
>>573063312
Ok I tried it, doesn't work. Guess I misremembered, maybe it is one of the power cable mods, maybe another addon idk.
Yeah would just be cool to have a direct connection but through the docking port is fine too.

I never paid any attention to thermal expansion outside of the basic stuff it adds like powered furnaces and autocrafters. I noticed a little while back that it apparently has an autofishing system that requires bait, so I decided to make a little fish hatchery shack for automating fishing.
>>
>>573067837
Wouldn't a direct connection just break when you move your plane/car/boat?
>>
>>573068129
If I wasn't lazy I would make a modpack with thermal being your only means of processing, . It's a couple neat concepts over its lifetime, but they've all been mostly abandoned with version changes. Like in 1.12.2 it had the enstabulation aparatus as a means of farming mobs.
But I'm lazy so delete post.
>>
>>573076518
tangentially related to what you said, thermal always had goofy machine names (like the autofisher being called the "aquatic entangler"). Is the enstabulation augment meant to be an augment that "enstabulates," that is, stabs, mobs with the diamond swords you craft it with? Because that would be pretty funny if so.
More to your point, I made a mobfarm based around the enstabulator augment for the centrifugal separator. Like all TE stuff back in 1.12, it just werks, but isn't necessarily visually very interesting. You just make some reusable morbs (mob pokeballs), put 2-3 into an encapturator or whatever the fuck its called, and then set it next to the separator. As the encapturator captures mobs, it sends the filled pokeballs to the separator, the separator kills the mob, then you have it give the empty pokeball back to the encapturator. It's a two block, 2 pipe build (3 if you count the powered spawner). Boring but very efficienct.
>>
>>573076518
Isn’t Thermal just MineFactory Reloaded crossed with BuildCraft pipes? MFR always had a wide variety of machine types for mob farming and processing and breeding and such. And safari nets too.
It’s kinda boring once you’ve played it once.
>>
WHY DO WE REACH PAGE 10 IN AN HOUR I HATE THE GOONSPAMMERS POLLUTING THIS BOARD
>>
>>573084535
I don't know about that, I always considered Thermal it's own thing.
>>573079492
The stabulator was just one example, what I envisioned would span thermal's lifetime and (try to) re-add things that were dropped between versions and mixing them up with mechanics from newer versions. Like having ore processing using the different fluids again.

I don't mind that thermal machines are magic blocks since I kind of prefer tight systems that you can facade around instead of the explicit purpose-built standalone multiblocks of e.g. IE and gregtech.

But I think you're right that it would mostly just suck and be boring.

>But I think you're right that it would mostly just suck and be boring.
It doesn't suck, it's just very, uh... minimalist as a mod. The fun aspects of thermal expansion are when you have to create complex rows of machines to achieve a particular end product.
The highest tier of fertilizer is a good example. To make it, you need to first make base level fertilizer which needs niter, charcoal powder, and slag from the induction furnace. You can get niter as a byproduct from pulverizing sandstone, so I have a recursive system that turns cobble into sand, crafts sand into sandstone, then pulverizes the sandstone into sand. You feed all of that to an autocrafter that makes the fertilizer, then you need to do fluidcrafting with tree sap, then you need to infuse 8,000 RF into each fertilizer.
Making this setup was fun. A thermal mobfarm is signifcantly less fun. But if you need a really efficient, scalable mob farm setup, it's pretty good.

hi I have create questions!!

how do those mechanical arms work?

analog transmission sometimes does the opposite of what I want when powered and goes slower instead of faster... unless it's supposed to do that and I just got it mixed up with something else.

what's the best engine design for an aeronautics vehicle? boilers? the diesel addon stuff? spamming portable engines?

sometimes tires don't feel reliable and have trouble with terrain is ther any addon to help with that?

center of mass is tricky how do you go about leveling your weigh?

thrusters go on up forever and are feel volatile but look cooler then propellers which feel more reliable... why is "PID" such a pain?

what's the use for the radars create addon if it's not just to be paired with the cannons?

also I have yet to see springs being used in a design that feels useful.

The ponders nigger
>engine
I find steam and portable engines very homoerotic on aircraft so I use diesel engines, or thrusters if it's supposed to be a jet.
As seen in webmrel, you can have a fully diesel airship where even the balloon is powered by diesel using Diesel Generators' Burners to heat up steam, and with tiny amount of redstone, you can have steam engines that don't need absurdly cringy infinite water sources
>tires
Offroad part of Aero sucks donkeyballs. Higher stress increases not only speed but also torque. Make actual suspensions if the vehicle is large or get Tracks+ / Bits n Tracks and make threads. There's also Big Tires but that just adds models without fixing any of it's retardations.
>CoM
Don't make your shit too off-balance in the first place. There are multiple stabilizer designs out there, simplest one is a gimball sensor managing multiple smaller balloons' burners while the main one provides the lift. Reactions wheels are the coolest but they take up shitload of space. iirc Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin had heavy weights in the middle that would be manually moved forward and backward

> what's the use for the radars create addon if it's not just to be paired with the cannons?
Almost nothing, the new versions are very much directly integrated with cannon mounts. Big mistake in my opinion. HOWEVER
https://modrinth.com/mod/create-aero-radars
This mod unlocks many many possibilities. For example you can use this to automatically rotate a crane directly over a physics'd shipping container by selecting it on the radar screen.

> what's the best engine design for an aeronautics vehicle? boilers? the diesel addon stuff? spamming portable engines?
I would say the "best" is probably spamming portable engines and fueling them with diesel gen Biomass Pallet blocks. These have a retardedly long burn time. A stack of blocks will last like 50 hours. Pretty easy to automate too. Feels kinda dumb. Huge diesel engine also a good option if you can be bothered to setup the fuel refining. Steam boiler scales very strongly, so if you have lots of space and need lots of power it's still your best option. We need the cool engines that Clockwork provides for VS, but less convoluted.

thanks anon. will be exciting when its back up. i tried to join other create servers, but they are lame. its hard to describe, but they universally lacked the "pioneering" feeling that came with sia. the lack of resources on any given island either challenged you to build a craft to hop between islands to get resources, and each attempt could cost you losing your ship, running out of fuel, or death. contrasted with the other servers i tried, where the progression was very linear and if you want resources just mine for hours or build a tunnel !! boring !! machine. it just felt fresh, and it reminds me of the yesteryears of minecraft servers, traveling to the other players via boats or minecart.

It's a resource that's easy to find small amounts of but difficult to collect in bulk, which makes it sorta unique. Not being a tree, stone-type, or ore makes it kinda refreshing. But if your modpack requires large amounts of it early-game, it can be tedious. The tinkers smeltery or coke oven is mostly ok, but going much beyond that would be unreasonable I think. But all that is with vanilla terrain generation. In TFC it's pretty different and camoflauged below a grass texture, so more of a pain. And you need it continuously, not just initially for infrastructure that you seldom upgrade. Not only do you need to keep expanding your supply by wandering around for the stuff, but you can't see if it's there until you get close enough, makes it no better than ores. Well TFC does make ores a bit better with surface deposits so it's not awful, but still not ideal.

Thematically, it's hard to require clay in massive amounts. Sure coke ovens and other refractory stuff, but regular bricks kinda get overshadowed by nether bricks in the "resisting heat" department. I saw them as the perfect opportunity for TFC to leverage its building stability element, requiring bricks for foundations and such, but chiselling stone and mud bricks aren't effected by gravity for some reason, and wood is generally a lot cheaper and fires aren't much of a threat outside of your forge.

If you wanted more realism, not only could you add more types of clay, but you could add methods for processing clay, like settling ponds and adding grog, and putting that clay into brick and tile moulds. Not to mention potters' wheels, and all the post-processing like glazes and firing temperatures. I guess unless you're playing a primlocked modpack, or explicitly playing a pottery factory simulator pack, there's no reason for any of that. Maybe for a sci-fi tech pack with no metals, where you develop advanced ceramics and glasses (and plastics?) to build a rocket and escape? TFC glass blowing is cool.

You'd think Twilight Forest of all mods would add tree monsters or ents or something.
>>
>>573322838
It's more of a mythology inspired magical dimension, with greek minotaurs and hydra, plus the lich from DnD and other things I'm not remembering. Really a hodge-podge of different aesthetics, for which the forest is just an aesthetic backdrop, not very cohesive.
Tree ents are more norse/tolkein if I recall, outside of tolkien specific mods I think there's too much marvel-induced norse myth fatigue. Norse myth is pretty hodge-podged too.

You could do quite a lot with a tree dimension mod. Biomes could be entire living forests, where digging or chopping trees incurs the wrath of the forest, with some sort of natural karma system. The forest biome would have a global health and size and other stats, and there would be mechanics both for destroying a forest for certain loot, and for helping heal forests for other loot. Perhaps different forests could have different alignments and could clash at the borders, but anything too dynamic would be a lagfest. Then maybe you'd have NPCs, loggers and forest people. Animal ecosystems like termites and pollinators, and parasitic plants.

Ok maybe instead you'd just make a Nausicaa toxic jungle mod.

Are there any mods at all that reduce microcrafting after you progress into the mod? There are mods that make microcrafting easier or increase basic resources, but I can't think of anything that makes recipes simpler.
No, gregtech doesn't count, because while you might have something like better rubber equivalents that are used in smaller quantities for greater outputs, they themselves require more complex machines if not more complex lines to produce.

I guess EE's the only thing that does that.

I managed to launch Divine Journey 2 via Cleanroom Relauncher, and it seems to just work. Forgot about Optifine still being there and also the XRay mod was causing issues, and after that it launched.

That being said:

Thought this was kinda cool, in Trickster there's a pair of spells that allow for teleportation. One creates a reference to an entity, and the other consumes the reference to attempt the teleport. The trick is that each spell has a cost that scales extremely aggressively with the distance they're attempting to execute their tasks on; i.e., creating a reference to an entity costs more the further away it is, and the consumption spell costs more the further the target location is from the casting location. There exists an item that is created in pairs (like the ae2 singularities), where you can "write" messages into one, and "read" them from the other. What this essentially boils down to, is that you want to write a spell that creates your reference and then sends it into one of the "twins", and then on the other side, you have a spell that just waits for messages to come through the other twin, and when it gets a message, executes the consumption part of the teleport. You end up having a cool incentive to visit areas, and set up teleport pads/rooms. I like that more than arbitrary teleports/waypoints. You can even get more wizardly with it, and inscribe the reference spell directly onto one of the twins, so you can carry a "home" teleport spell right on you
I know people don't really fuck with the magic programming mods but I think it's a neat system

Analog transmission or rotational speed controller. Or throttle lever directly on the diesel engine even, I believe that should work since the recent diesel gen update.

Unbelievably based. I will now play your serb. Well of course I was already planning on doing so.
In vanilla I'd say 3-4x day and 1x night feels a bit better so that the nights are still dangerous. However with Sengoku the mobs are very scary so that part is covered. The sleep time scaling with % of players sleeping also probably also works better with 1/2 nighttime.

SIA is halfway there, but until the late-game you can’t really avoid having a static factory base. Having the default infinite hot-air burners (instead of the ones in SIA that consume solid fuel) would make it more viable to do so before levitite, but that’s a balancing and aesthetic choice I went against. The more you facilitate airship travel early-game, the less progression in upgrading and expanding your airship is possible. If you had a land-based or especially nautical oriented pack, it would be much more viable to be entirely nomadic, while still having room for progression. Perhaps requiring armoured vehicles, or all-terrain vehicles, or submarines, to get to a certain area. Gating altitudes behind different lifting technologies would also probably be possible. And of course, with a space mod, you could gate progression by planet, with rocket and space-suit technology being a limiting factor both.

Are those copycat corners on the wheels? Why not slopes? Do copycats inherit friction specs? The bumpiness of wheels means it’s probably best to make them as big as possible, that will make traversing bumpy terrain easier too. Make that giant russian trench-crossing tank concept from WW1.

with how it is right now i think if i made it faster itd be even more inefficient since making fans faster doesnt make the washing faster right? i have some changes to make for the gravel section another time. maybe conveyer the other 3 sections straight into a vault big enough to funnel all of them instead of that one side belt but then id need to dick around with more fan washers. maybe i could try to get the fan rpm higher to cover all the belts instead but fitting it into a 2 block is what's tricky for me especially as a noob
>>573702258
thanks i like how it looks too. with a little more work i could probably make it cleaner
>>
>>573704289
funnel all the gravel onto a single depot and point multiple washing fans at it, and for the love of god use crushing wheels

Iron's spells is a really fun mod, I'd never heard of it before this pack...half of mine are utility spells for flying/opening portals! I tend to use a combination of 4-5 combat spells, but when I fight easy mobs I just spam icicle lol...

I'm holding out until Create is updated to the 26.x versions but since I haven't kept track of it since it first came out I have no idea how fast their development tends to be. The wiki page is nice, but a little vague and unhelpful for me; is there a chance the 26.1 version could come out by the end of the year? There's nothing that I'm aware of in 26.2/3 that I'm interested in, but I'd love to get those baby animals in my game.

(yes I see the line where it says "we cannot give out ETAs", I'm mostly just asking about how quickly they caught up to newer versions in the past)
>>
>>573747219
>I have no idea how fast their development tends to be
it singlehandedly caused modded to stall at 1.20.1 forge because then never completed the neoforge port to upper 1.20 versions, so
>is there a chance the 26.1 version could come out by the end of the year?
most likely not unless it 1.26 (I'm not going to use the stupid numbering) becomes really big on it's own right without create, which is never happening
>>
If I knew how to make mods I would be able to make a really nice modpack with the ideas I want implemented but I'm not sure if there are any that already exist that are specific to what I'd want
>>
>>573748449
well what are you trying to see in mc?
>>
What mods go well with little maid?
>>
>>573748539
The mods I already like have stuff like steam power, firearms, very basic electricity (I think it was IC2 that I used before?), seasons, some basic machinery, more variety in crops and foods you can make, basic transport like trains and some boats

I used to use a custom modpack that had a few of those but it was using very old versions of the mods since some hadn't been updated in forever. Other stuff I'd like to add are things like elevators that use electricity (also stuff like bigger freight elevators), a temperature mechanic so you can get warm or cold depending on temperature and what you're wearing and if you get wet or not and stuff, submersible watercraft, maybe some really simple planes or lighter than aircraft, and stuff like fuel processing for the various types of machines or vehicles. Almost going for a very late 19th century feel, but open to some more modern things

What features are you wanting in 26.1 that earlier versions lack? Chances are they’ve all been backported. And unless you wanted to play Create and nothing else, all the other mods would need to be updated also. Especially any Create mod addons, which need to wait for Create itself to update before they even start development.
Version-chasing is cringe.

been messing around with the sia modpack. kept looking at the belts and thinking it would be cool to make a sushi train. forgot farmers delight was included. would be very cool to pop down a fastfood restaurant on some island that you can go through the drivethrough with your airships and larp really hard. very simple and works great. the autofishing is very nice. however, i havent figured a way to collect the exp lying around. thoughts?
>>
>>573778176
Between Create’s drains and Enchantment Industry’s stuff there’s surely a way to pick up loose XP.

FYI the server box is in my hands and powered on, installing debian as we speak.

any modpacks focused completely and entirely on oil and nothing but oil? I have a powerful urge to make a shit ton of oil rigs and singlehandedly cause global warming but I have no self developed ego so I need direction and guidance of a themed modpack for this
>>
>>573778176
Huh. I tried making an autofisher on the sia serb and it didn't give me anything. No drops whatsoever. I thought it was patched out or something.
Enchantment industries is the best solution, but otherwise fans and belt will transport xp orbs nicely. You can direct them to a spot for retrieval or lava disposal. It's a pretty nice hands-free source of xp.

>>573785081
hmm. interesting. the fishing is very finnicky with the deployer. the RPMs matter, and it seems anything (> 32 && < 250) works. i haven't been able to find a reason why this is the case. you also need a block above the waterlogged stairs otherwise the rod wont deploy. i found this setup in a youtube video i cant find. you can use picrel, and its tilable. the speed will probably be different on a server.
>>
>>573788145
Haha that's the exact setup I used but maybe the speed was too low. It seemed to fish fine and the rod got deployed, bobber triggered the pressure plate correctly and retracted but just no drops to be seen.
On pathserb I had 30 or so of these in a factory and it shit out xp like there's no tomorrow. Farmer's Delight adds a recipe for cutting fish into bonemeal which was awesome, but quickly surpassed by the bone production from a wither skeleton farm.

Weaposn, mobs, blocks, a full-scale recreation (though randomized) of middle earth in an alternate dimension with biome-approrpreate structures, alternate potions by way of brewing, a factions system with player-allying units, etc...

What a coincidence, I've also recently gotten super interested in that mod. Haven't played it since I play nu-versions, but I'm seriously thinking about making a 1.7 instance and trying it out. I've been watching videos and browsing the wiki and it's really giving me a strong itch to try it myself. It looks like a lot of fun.

The 26 has to do with year, by using 26 you've already abandoned the old versioning system.
26.1 was the first update of the year 2026.

Nah, you need to fully enchant them to have a shot against the dragons. Then you get dragonsteel then completely face tank it's attacks. That's the progression.
