This is the whole basis for the culling. The former is the kind of thing I think would drive Basilio in that kind of a setting. He grew up in a hellscape and knows full well paripus die whenever, and he also wasn't drugged out of his mind by Sanctists, so he wouldn't conventionally go mad from the spell being activated and seeing people go ass backward all around him. In a scenario where Will joins Louis and they take equal part in the destroyer king role Louis knows that some of the survivors would hate him for I think berg would be full yandere for Will and that would keep her going if her parents were transformed or something like that, kind of like a Zorba with tits but also less sane.

Anime adaptations of games that have a lot of story (like Persona 5, for fucking example) leave important shit out all the time precisely because they try to do this for the benefit of the runtime and the moron watching the show. And this was why the first argument didn't work, because you couldn't make it without taking it to the only extreme that would be favorable to what you were trying to say that didn't represent what you were talking about in the first place

People might love the 2nd Heaven's Feel movie for keeping all the sex in, but even that one cuts a ton of things out of the original story. Realistically, a metaphor anime would totally cut the loli Rella flashback in the middle and just have Rella tell all of that instead of showing it, because you still need the details from that scene for what she did and what Forden was trying to do to fully make sense, and even then it still wouldn't be able to compress the third part as-is because too many things are actually happening in it that are predicated on earlier parts of the story and matter for what happens immediately afterward. You can't move the fight elsewhere or have her not admit to the assassination a second time without the entire chain of events falling apart, you can't shorten the third part much or at all without it impacting the payoff for Gideaux or showing why Forden's former supporters eventually start rioting while Louis' do too between the state religion starting to collapse and Rella's endorsement turning into a monster in broad daylight which happens later, and what does this naturally lead to because they can't get it into the amount of time they need to? The anime screenwriters cutting shit. Would be a small miracle if Gideaux wasn't just completely relegated to a background character.
